Mercedes-Benz is preparing to enter a new chapter in its electric vehicle journey with the arrival of the GLC EV – an all-new electric SUV that will be officially launched next month.

According to the "3-pointed star" brand, this will be a complete transformation, marking a change in the brand's design language, especially with the iconic detail "chrome grille".
The new Mercedes design will be inspired by classic models such as the W108 and 600 Pullman, creating a connection between heritage and the future. In particular, the new radiator grille has a chrome frame, a frosted glass mesh design and sophisticated LED border lights, but Mercedes-Benz did not reveal their shape.
Instead, the German automaker is introducing an option whose most notable feature is the presence of 942 animated pixels that Mercedes-Benz describes as bringing “life” to the GLC EV electric vehicle.

As vehicle models become increasingly homogeneous in design due to emissions regulations and aerodynamic requirements, such lighting details are becoming a powerful tool for car manufacturers to assert their own personality.
“The new iconic radiator grille is not only a new face for the GLC, it also redefines the entire look of the brand,” says Gorden Wagener, Mercedes-Benz Head of Design. “It combines timeless design principles with a modern vision, making our cars more recognisable than ever.”
Not only is the exterior of the Mercedes-Benz GLC EV developed based on the "Sensual Purity 2.0" design language, but the interior of this electric SUV will also be a big step forward in technology inside the cockpit.

The car is equipped with an ultra-wide MBUX Hyperscreen screen, operated by the completely new MB.OS operating system developed by Mercedes, supporting AI artificial intelligence and integrating 3D gaming features.
The new Mercedes-Benz GLC EV, with its impressive pixel grille, will be officially introduced on September 7 at the 2025 Munich Motor Show (IAA Mobility). It is likely that this groundbreaking design will soon appear on other Mercedes-Benz models in the near future, as the company continues to expand its product line and upgrade current models.
