According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today (December 8), cold air has affected the Northern, North Central and most of the Central Central regions; in the Gulf of Tonkin, there are strong Northeast winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8; Ly Son island district has strong winds of level 6, Phu Quy has gusts of level 7.

On December 8, cold air continued to affect other places in the Central Central region and some places in the South Central region. Northeast wind inland is strong at level 3, coastal areas at level 4-5.

In the Northern region, it is cold, in mountainous areas there are places with severe cold; the lowest temperature in this cold air wave is generally from 14-17 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas 11-13 degrees Celsius, in high mountainous areas there are places below 10 degrees Celsius. The North Central region is cold; the lowest temperature in this cold air wave is generally from 15-18 degrees Celsius. In Hanoi area, it is cold. The lowest temperature in this cold air wave is generally 14-17 degrees Celsius.

Due to the influence of cold air, the area from Ha Tinh to Phu Yen will have rain, showers, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms. It is forecasted that from the night of December 10 to December 18, the North will have rain in some places, cold weather, especially from the night of December 10-11 and the morning it will be cold. Thanh Hoa-Nghe An from December 11-12 will have rain, scattered showers, cold weather; especially from the night of December 10-12 and the morning it will be cold.

From Ha Tinh to Khanh Hoa from December 11-15, there will be rain, moderate rain, locally heavy rain to very heavy rain and thunderstorms; from December 16, there will be scattered showers. Other areas will have scattered showers and thunderstorms; from December 11-15, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain.

At sea, on December 8, in the Gulf of Tonkin, there is strong northeast wind level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 8, rough sea, waves 2.0-3.0m high.

In the North East Sea area (including the Hoang Sa archipelago), there will be strong Northeast winds at level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas, and waves 4.0-6.0m high; in the sea area from Binh Dinh to Binh Thuan, the area between the East Sea and the western sea area of the South East Sea area (including the western sea area of Truong Sa archipelago), there will be strong Northeast winds at level 6, sometimes at level 7, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas, and waves 3.0-6.0m high; in the area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai and from Ba Ria-Vung Tau to Ca Mau, there will be strong Northeast winds at level 6, gusting to level 8, rough seas, and waves 3.0-5.0m high.
