Northern Vietnam is about to experience more heavy rain.

TPO - Forecasts indicate that from late afternoon to tonight (May 29th), the North will continue to experience moderate to heavy rain, with a high risk of thunderstorms, hail, and strong gusts of wind. The South Central coastal region, the Southern region, and the Central Highlands will also experience scattered thunderstorms today, with localized heavy rain.

Last night and early this morning (May 29th), the northern region experienced scattered thunderstorms, with some areas receiving heavy to very heavy rainfall.

Thanks to thunderstorms, the weather in Northern Vietnam today is cool with a maximum temperature of only 31-34 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 23-26 degrees Celsius, with some mountainous areas experiencing temperatures below 23 degrees Celsius.

Forecasts indicate that from late afternoon to tonight, the northern region will continue to experience scattered showers and thunderstorms, with localized moderate to heavy rainfall, reaching 15-30mm, and in some places over 100mm. During thunderstorms, there is a very high risk of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

Hanoi experienced widespread thunderstorms yesterday evening and night, accompanied by lightning, strong winds, and gusts. Rainfall in some areas exceeded 80mm, causing localized flooding.

Today's forecast for Hanoi is light rain and cool weather. However, thunderstorms are expected this evening and tonight, with localized heavy to very heavy rain. During the thunderstorms, there is a possibility of lightning, strong winds, and gusts.

Today's highest temperature will be between 32-34 degrees, and the lowest between 24-26 degrees.

The exceptionally intense heatwave that lasted for several days has ended in Thanh Hoa and Ha Tinh provinces today. The highest temperature today will be 33-35 degrees Celsius, and the lowest 25-27 degrees Celsius.

Forecasts indicate that the heat will gradually subside in the area from Quang Tri to the former Phu Yen on May 30-31, before widespread heat returns to cover central Vietnam from June 1.

Today, from Khanh Hoa to the former Binh Thuan province, the weather will be sunny, with rain in the late afternoon and evening, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, with heavy rain in some areas. Southeast winds will be at level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

The lowest temperature will be 26-28 degrees, and the highest will be 33-35 degrees.

The Central Highlands will experience little rain and intermittent sunshine during the day, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, and locally heavy rain in some areas. Southwesterly to southerly winds will be at level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

The lowest temperature will be 20-23 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature will be 34-36 degrees Celsius in the North and 31-33 degrees Celsius in the South.

Southern Vietnam will be cloudy today with scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing heavy rain. In the late afternoon and evening, there will be rain, moderate rain, and scattered thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing heavy rain. Southwesterly winds will be at level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

The lowest temperature will be 25-28 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature will be 31-34 degrees Celsius.

Ho Chi Minh City will be cloudy today, with occasional showers and thunderstorms, especially in the late afternoon and evening with moderate to heavy rain in some areas. Southwesterly winds will be at level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

The lowest temperature will be 25-27 degrees, and the highest will be 32-34 degrees.

The forecast for rainfall this evening and tonight in Northern Vietnam and North Central Vietnam is 15-30mm, with some areas exceeding 100mm. Southern Vietnam and Lam Dong province will receive 20-40mm of rain today, with some areas exceeding 80mm. The Central Highlands will receive 10-20mm of rain, with some areas exceeding 50mm.
