Free transport of relief goods to flood-affected areas by train

The Railway Industry will receive and transport relief goods free of charge to flood-hit areas, contributing to the whole country's efforts to overcome the consequences of storms.

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 11 and its circulation, causing serious damage in many northern provinces and cities, today (October 10), Vietnam Railways Corporation officially launched the free transportation of relief goods to people in affected areas.

“This is a practical action demonstrating the sense of responsibility and sharing of the Railway industry with people in disaster areas, contributing to the whole country overcoming the consequences of the storm,” VNR leaders emphasized.

Accordingly, VNR will only receive and transport relief goods free of charge from organizations and individuals through the People's Committees, Fatherland Fronts and Red Cross Societies of provinces and centrally-run cities. This activity aims to ensure relief goods are transported smoothly, promptly and safely to people in disaster areas.

Vietnam Railways Corporation recommends that organizations and individuals contact the People's Committees, Fatherland Fronts and Red Cross Societies of provinces and cities for specific instructions on procedures for receiving and sending relief goods.

The work of receiving and unloading goods is organized at qualified terminal stations on the national railway network such as: Saigon, Song Than, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Hue, Dong Hoi, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Hai Phong... Relief goods will be transported to Giap Bat and Hanoi stations.

The free shipping program will be implemented from October 10, 2025 until further notice. Vietnam Railways Corporation requests agencies, organizations and localities to closely coordinate in receiving, loading and distributing goods, in order to provide timely support to people in flood-affected areas./.
