National Day holiday activities took place from August 30 to September 2 with the participation of about 200 artisans and ethnic people.
The highlight is recreating the independent highland market with the unique cultural space of the ethnic groups of the Northwest and Northeast, combining the scene of going to the market, having fun with folk songs, folk dances, cuisine , folk games and introducing local products.
The center of the market is the bustling lion dance of the Nung people, the Muong cultural space and activities introducing the history and processing of traditional dishes such as thang co, five-color sticky rice, wine making, weaving...
With 50 agricultural product stalls, visitors can enjoy attractive specialties such as roasted pork, roasted duck of Lang Son, various types of bamboo shoots, vermicelli, rice, typical spices of star anise, cardamom, honey ...; experience the taste of highland cuisine with thang co, men men corn wine, roasted suckling pig with honey, rice rolls, colored sticky rice, grilled chicken, bamboo rice, grilled fish; admire and shop for brocade products of the Muong, H'Mong, Thai, Tay, Nung, Lao people ...
In the market space, 80 photos will be displayed in an exhibition with the theme "Colors of the Highlands".
In particular, the lion and cat dance art of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups (Lang Son) was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2017 and will be performed on this occasion. This is a traditional beauty often seen in Long Tong festivals and Mid-Autumn Festival, with the meaning of warding off evil spirits and praying for good luck. Visitors can participate in the experience of making lion masks and creating animal figures with Nung ethnic artisans from Lang Son province.

The folk song and dance program "Happy Independence Day" will resound with melodies celebrating the country, praising the homeland and national identity combined with folk games, creating a warm, joyful and exciting atmosphere.
The program also recreates traditional festivals such as Poon Poong (flower festival) of the Muong ethnic group, excerpts of the "Cai Tao" ceremony - conferring titles to Tao teachers of the Nung ethnic group (Lang Son) along with many unique cultural experiences, contributing to promoting, preserving and developing heritage values, attracting tourists during the holidays.
