The person who picked up the dropped wallet was Mr. Tran Van Tam (born in 1976, Head of the Security and Order Team of Village 9, Phu Xuan Commune, Dak Lak Province).

According to Mr. Tam, at noon on August 16, 2025, he was driving a motorbike from the commune center to his home. When he reached the inter-village road (through village 9), he discovered a black wallet (men's wallet) that someone had dropped on the side of the road.

He quickly stopped the car, picked it up and opened it to check. He found a Citizen Identification Card in the wallet with the name Y Yuir Mlo (registered permanent residence in Buon Trap village, Ea Tam commune, now Tam Giang commune, Dak Lak province), along with the amount of 6,200,000 VND.

After returning home not far away, Mr. Tam posted the information on his personal Facebook page; at the same time, he brought it to the Phu Xuan Commune Police Headquarters to report and return the property to the owner.

After receiving the property from Mr. Tam, the Commune Police informed the local authorities where Mr. Y Yuir Mlo resided to contact and invite him to come to the unit to receive the property. At about 14:15 on August 16, 2025, upon receiving the information, Mr. Y Yuir Mlo went to Phu Xuan Commune Police to request the return of the property. After verification, the property belonged to Mr. Y Yuir Mlo, so the Commune Police on duty and Mr. Tran Van Tam returned the property to him.

Mr. Y Yuir said: "I was very happy and grateful to receive the wallet back with all the documents and money inside intact. I am very grateful to Mr. Tam and the Commune Police because in addition to the money, the wallet also contained some very important personal documents to me."

Mr. Tam's work is a noble gesture, deeply humane, worthy of praise, and needs to be widely spread in the community.
