The family of Mr. Ma Van Vinh, in Noong Cuong village, Minh Quang commune, received support to build a new house.

When the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses was implemented, the Party Committee and the government of Minh Quang commune quickly reviewed and prioritized compiling a list of beneficiaries for support, recognizing that eliminating temporary houses was an act of gratitude to those who sacrificed and contributed to the country. With the active participation of various departments, organizations, and philanthropists, everyone joined hands to contribute. From 2024 to the present, the commune has supported the repair of 32 houses and the construction of 2 new houses for people with meritorious service and relatives of martyrs, becoming the leading locality in the entire province.

Comrade Pham Cao Ky, Vice Chairman of the Minh Quang Commune People's Committee, said: "In implementing the 'Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses' movement, we have carefully reviewed each case of disadvantaged policy beneficiary families and mobilized resources to provide support. These new roofs not only provide shelter from the sun and rain but also instill confidence and motivation in these families to stabilize and improve their lives."

In his newly renovated house with a bright corrugated iron roof, Mr. Ma Ngoc Tao from Na Giang village emotionally shared: "I never thought I would live in such a sturdy house in my old age." As someone affected by chemical toxins, his health was weak, and his family's finances were already difficult. Thanks to a 30 million VND grant and the help of neighbors and the government, his previously dilapidated house has been renovated, making it cleaner and safer before the rainy season.

Similarly, Mr. Ma Van Vinh, from Noong Cuong village, a veteran who participated in the resistance war against the US, is also counting down the days until his new house is completed. With a large family and a dilapidated old house, the joy of having a spacious house of over 90 square meters has left him deeply moved: “I am truly grateful to have such a sturdy house. The commune officials and organizations came to help from dismantling the old house to digging the foundation. Everyone was enthusiastic and responsible, as if they were taking care of their own home.”

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Khuyen, Head of the Department of Meritorious Persons, Department of Internal Affairs, from the beginning of 2025 to the present, the entire province has supported the construction of 108 new houses and the repair of 169 houses for meritorious persons with a total budget of over 11 billion VND. Minh Quang is a typical locality with 34 houses that have been completed or are nearing completion. Not only does the program provide stable housing, but it also provides spiritual energy to those who have sacrificed and contributed to the country. Every brick, every meter of corrugated iron is imbued with the sharing of the community, and the spirit of "Gratitude and repayment" and "Remembering the source of the water" is being realized every day.

The entire province of Tuyen Quang is striving to complete the program of eliminating temporary housing for war veterans and martyrs before July 27, 2025. This is a significant milestone on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs. With impressive results, Minh Quang not only leads in quantity but also leads in profound gratitude.
