Mr. Ma Van Vinh's family, Noong Cuong village, Minh Quang commune, received support to build a new house. |
When the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses was implemented, the Party Committee and the government of Minh Quang commune quickly reviewed and prioritized the list of proposed support for people with meritorious services; identifying the elimination of temporary houses as a gesture of gratitude to those who sacrificed and contributed to the country. With the active participation of departments, branches, organizations and philanthropists, everyone joined hands to contribute, from 2024 to present, the commune has supported the repair of 32 houses, built 2 new houses for people with meritorious services and relatives of martyrs, becoming the leading locality in the province.
Comrade Pham Cao Ky, Vice Chairman of Minh Quang Commune People's Committee said: "Implementing the movement "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses", we have carefully reviewed each case of families with difficult policies, mobilizing resources to support. New roofs are not only a place to shelter from the sun and rain but also add confidence and motivation for families to stabilize and improve their lives."
In a house with a new shiny corrugated iron roof, Mr. Ma Ngoc Tao, from Na Giang village, emotionally shared: "I never thought that I would be able to live in such a sturdy house in my old age." Being exposed to toxic chemicals, his health is poor, and his family's economy is already difficult. Thanks to the support of 30 million VND and the help of the people and the government, the previously dilapidated level 4 house has been renovated to be cleaner and safer before the storm season.
Similarly, Mr. Ma Van Vinh, Noong Cuong village, a veteran who participated in the resistance war against the US, is also counting the days waiting for his new house to be completed. With a large family and a dilapidated old house, the joy of having a spacious house of more than 90 square meters makes him unable to hide his emotions: “I am truly grateful to have such a solid house. Commune officials and organizations came to support from dismantling to digging the foundation. Everyone is enthusiastic and responsible as if they were taking care of their own house.”
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Khuyen, Head of the Department of Meritorious People, Department of Home Affairs, from the beginning of 2025 to now, the whole province has supported the construction of 108 new houses and the repair of 169 houses for people with meritorious services with a total cost of over 11 billion VND. Minh Quang is a typical locality with 34 houses that have been and are being completed. Not only providing stable housing, the program also adds spiritual energy to those who have sacrificed and contributed to the country. Each brick, each meter of corrugated iron is imbued with the sharing of the community, the spirit of "Repaying gratitude", "When drinking water, remember the source" is being realized every day.
The entire Tuyen Quang province is striving to complete the program of eliminating temporary houses for people with meritorious services before July 27, 2025. A meaningful milestone on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day. With impressive results, Minh Quang not only leads in quantity, but also leads with deep gratitude.
