According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, in preparation for the end of 2024 and the peak of the Lunar New Year 2025, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has directed Vietnamese airlines to arrange and balance transportation resources, and coordinate with ground service units to ensure appropriate load supply.
Airlines are expected to continue receiving more aircraft to supplement their existing fleets, serving the peak Tet holiday in 2025.
At the same time, early sales of flight tickets for the Tet holiday will be launched so that passengers can choose and plan their travel accordingly, as well as speed up the process of receiving new leased/purchased aircraft and re-entering operation of aircraft that have completed engine repair and maintenance from the manufacturer...
According to reports from Vietnamese airlines, in the coming time, airlines are expected to continue receiving and have plans to lease additional aircraft to supplement their existing fleet. Vietnam Airlines is expected to receive 3 more aircraft, 2 A320s and 1 B787-10. Vietjet Air is expected to receive 8 A321s and 2 E190s (the E190 serving the Hanoi - Con Dao route is temporarily suspended after Bamboo Airways returned the aircraft and restructured).
Bamboo Airways and Vietravel Airlines are also planning to increase the number of aircraft in operation to match their capacity and market development needs...
In recent times, to contribute to reducing the pressure on domestic airfares due to market supply and demand factors, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has implemented synchronous and effective solutions to ensure and stabilize the air transport force to provide appropriate and balanced loads on domestic/international routes and markets, well meeting the air travel needs of passengers.
In particular, the focus is on solutions such as creating conditions for airlines to be able to lease additional aircraft fleets; adjusting aircraft operating time, reducing aircraft turnaround time to transfer flights, and optimizing aircraft operating time during the day.
In addition, increase flights in the evening and night time; increase coordination parameters at key airports during peak periods and in accordance with market forecasts; direct units/enterprises in the aviation industry to review procedures and closely coordinate with airlines to ensure operations and passenger service...
The implemented solutions are assessed to have brought positive results, partially compensating for the shortage of supply capacity due to the decline in the aircraft fleet.
In addition, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam will continue to strengthen the implementation of monitoring and supervision of ticket price developments and require businesses to implement measures to declare prices, post prices, and publicize price information in accordance with legal regulations; as well as recommend that passengers plan to book tickets early to have more opportunities to choose from with suitable ticket prices.
