Ms. Hoang Thi Son, President of the Women's Union of Chieng Mai commune, said: For the movement to be effective and have a widespread influence, first of all, the union officials themselves must set an example in self-improving the family's living space; go to each house to mobilize and guide members to rearrange the yard according to appropriate criteria. From those specific actions, each member will actively promote and share experiences with surrounding households. Thanks to that, the spirit of solidarity and cohesion in the community is increasingly strengthened.
Since the beginning of 2025, Chieng Mai commune has built 111 houses meeting the criteria of "Clean House - Beautiful Garden"; 45 women's self-managed roads, and 36 flower roads stretching through the villages. Women's associations at all levels have also implemented many environmental protection activities, such as the model "Joining hands to classify, collect, and treat household waste right from households", associated with the movement "3 clean - clean kitchen, clean house, clean alley". The whole commune currently has 17 waste classification models; 3 "Green House" models collect recyclable waste, contributing to reducing the amount of waste discharged into the environment, raising awareness of resource reuse in the community.
The model of “Clean house - beautiful garden” in Chiang Mai demonstrates the sense of responsibility and creativity of women, is an important driving force in changing the appearance of the village to be bright - green - clean - beautiful, contributing to building a sustainable new countryside.
