Accordingly, patient NTV, in Tran Bien ward, Dong Nai province, went to a medical facility in the province due to mild pain in the epigastric region. During the clinical examination, the doctors accidentally discovered an unusual mass in the abdomen. Worried, the family took the patient to Dong Nai - 2 Hospital for further examination and intensive treatment.
Specialist Doctor 2 Le Anh Tuan, Head of General Surgery Department, Dong Nai - 2 Hospital said: Doctors performed endoscopic surgery to remove the entire tumor to completely eliminate potential risks for the patient. The tumor has many proliferating blood vessels, making it easy to bleed during the intervention. Therefore, the doctors prepared carefully, analyzed each step meticulously and coordinated with a modern equipment system.
Thanks to that, the surgery was safe. The surgery lasted 60 minutes and no complications were recorded. After the surgery, the patient recovered well, his health was stable and he will be discharged in the next few days.
According to Dr. Tuan, the pathology results showed that the tumor the patient had was a vascular Castleman tumor - a rare benign tumor in the abdomen. Although benign, if left untreated, the tumor can grow large, compress nearby organs or cause abdominal bleeding due to strong vascular proliferation, seriously affecting health. Fortunately, this case was detected early when the patient only had mild pain symptoms.
Therefore, people need to see a doctor immediately when there are signs of unusual pain in the abdomen, epigastric region or digestive disorders...
