Specifically, patient LTG, 35 years old, in Vinh Long province was hospitalized with severe pain in the right flank. After examination and necessary paraclinical tests, doctors discovered that the gallbladder was distended, inflamed, edematous, and secreting fluid due to gallstones filling the gallbladder.

MSc. Dr. Nguyen Van Manh, Deputy Head of the General Surgery Department, said: Given the patient's condition, doctors performed laparoscopic surgery to remove the patient's gallbladder. Doctors recorded more than 100 stones in the patient's gallbladder. After surgery, the patient's health was stable.

According to Dr. Manh, to avoid similar situations, people need to eat healthy foods such as: reduce fried foods, reduce saturated fat, increase green vegetables, fiber, cereals, fish, drink enough water... At the same time, exercise regularly, maintain a reasonable weight, do not arbitrarily use antibiotics or pain relievers when having stomach pain because it can mask the symptoms and delay treatment.

In addition, the initial symptoms of gallstones are often unclear, so regular health check-ups and abdominal ultrasounds are needed to detect the disease early. When the patient experiences symptoms such as: dull pain under the right rib, fever accompanied by yellow skin and eyes or abnormal color changes in stool and urine, etc., they should immediately go to reputable medical facilities with specialists to be examined, consulted and treated promptly by doctors.
