Along with the recovery of the traditional tourist market, Ninh Binh is promoting the exploitation of the South Asian market, including India. Notably, the province will soon welcome the largest group of Indian tourists ever, about 4,500 people.
From August 28 to September 5, Ninh Binh is expected to welcome a group of about 4,500 Indian tourists. This group is large in number and belongs to the high-spending segment. Notably, the representative of the group is a businessman, billionaire, and a person of great influence in India.
Comrade Pham Duy Phong, Deputy Director of Ninh Binh Department of Tourism said: The group of tourists was divided into 7 groups to visit Trang An Eco-tourism Area on each day. With experience in welcoming large groups of tourists, after receiving the document from Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and Vietravel Company, Ninh Binh Department of Tourism coordinated with relevant departments, branches and businesses to prepare the best conditions to welcome the group.
Specific solutions have been proposed such as: dividing the lanes, arranging berths, priority boats and ticket control personnel for the tour group, assigning English speaking tour guides to introduce tourist attractions to visitors, especially ensuring service quality, creating convenience, good impression, and meeting the specific requirements of the tour group.
"The fact that the Indian billionaire's group chose to visit and travel to Trang An has affirmed the attraction of Trang An's beauty to international tourists. At the same time, it is expected to create a media effect, widely promoting the image of Ninh Binh tourism as attractive and friendly, which is a premise for large groups of tourists with high spending from India to Ninh Binh in the near future" - Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism said.
According to Mr. Pham Duy Phong, with more than 1.4 billion people and a strong increase in demand for foreign travel, India is becoming a potential market that the Vietnamese tourism industry in general and Ninh Binh in particular are aiming for.
According to statistics from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the number of visitors to Vietnam has increased rapidly in recent years. In 2023, the country welcomed 392,000 Indian visitors, an increase of 231% compared to 2019 (the period before the COVID-19 pandemic). In the first 7 months of this year alone, the tourism industry welcomed more than 271,000 Indian visitors, an increase of 127% compared to the same period last year. India has become one of the 10 largest international tourist markets in Vietnam.
As a locality possessing many unique landscapes and landscapes, notably the World Cultural and Natural Heritage Trang An, along with a long-standing historical and cultural tradition and convenient transportation, Ninh Binh province is one of the destinations that Indian tourists are interested in and love.
In recent years, along with the recovery of traditional international tourist markets such as China, Korea, Japan, the US, Europe, etc., Ninh Binh tourism industry has focused on developing and expanding the tourism market to potential countries in the South Asian region such as India.
The tourism industry has stepped up promotional activities in this large tourism market such as participating in domestic and international tourism fairs; actively promoting the image of Ninh Binh tourism on social platforms,...
In particular, in July 2024, implementing the province's Foreign Affairs Plan for 2024 approved by the Prime Minister, the Ninh Binh Provincial Delegation had a working trip with the Indian Ministry of Tourism, the Indian Tourism Federation and the Indian Tourism Association to promote the cooperative relationship between India and Ninh Binh, promote the province's potential, attract more tourists as well as film crews to Ninh Binh in the coming time.
"Welcoming an unprecedented large number of Indian tourists is a positive result in the promotion and advertising of Ninh Binh province's tourism to this market in recent times. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for Ninh Binh province to continue to strengthen its position and attract more international tourists and investors to Ninh Binh in the coming time" - Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism added.
The Indian market is identified by Ninh Binh as one of the emerging international tourist markets with great potential. To attract tourists from this market of more than 1.4 billion people, the tourism industry and tourism service businesses have been making efforts to ensure the best and most satisfying service for Indian tourists.
According to Mr. Pham Van Ha, CEO of Legend Hotel, the market of Indian guests to the hotel has increased rapidly in recent years. In addition to attentive service, the unit also tries to bring dishes suitable for their culture and beliefs. However, it only meets about 50-60% of the quality of meals according to Halal Food standards - a standard that includes regulations, demonstrating suitability for Muslims.
" We hope to participate in training courses, improve our skills, and disseminate technical standards to learn more about Indian culture, beliefs, and cuisine, to best serve this market in the future," said a representative of this hotel.
