Hai Phong Center for Employment Services and Nursing for Meritorious People (Department of Home Affairs) organizes online job fairs

In the first 6 months of the year, Hai Phong city organized 35 job fairs, providing vocational training support policy consultation for more than 16,000 workers, and job referrals for about 4,000 people. The total number of workers receiving job consultation and referrals increased by about 50% compared to the same period last year. This result was achieved thanks to flexible coordination between units, along with diversifying forms of job consultation and referrals, contributing to improving the efficiency of connecting labor supply and demand.

Connect directly with employers

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Head of the Department of Consulting, Job Introduction and Vocational Training (Hai Phong Center for Employment Services and Nursing for Meritorious People) said: In the past 6 months, the city has had 510 businesses registering to recruit workers in job fairs. The Center has been implementing synchronous solutions to support businesses in posting their recruitment needs on the website, recording live footage of the working environment and conditions, interviewing workers working at the business... broadcasting on digital platforms and online applications. In addition to regular job fairs, the Center organizes specialized job fairs specifically for units that need to recruit a large number of workers. Typical programs include: Vinfast Recruitment Day, Maple Job Fair... For the first time, the Center organized an online job fair, connecting businesses with workers online through job service centers nationwide.

Businesses with recruitment needs and employees both benefit from job transactions. Mr. Dang Van Hoi, an officer of the Administration - Human Resources Department, Hung Vuong Packaging Joint Stock Company (Hong Bang Ward) said: Participating in online job transactions helps the unit reach many candidates of different ages who are looking for jobs. The interview connection is organized centrally and quickly, helping businesses easily select and decide to recruit for each position, without having to spend more time organizing separate preliminary selections at the company.

From the workers' side, many people find jobs that match their abilities and aspirations through monitoring and participating in job fairs. Ms. Phi Thu Thao, 32 years old, living in Du Hang Street (Le Chan Ward) shared: "After maternity leave, I want to find a job with flexible hours such as sales, insurance consulting, beauty care... to both develop my experience and have time to take care of my family. I participated in the online job fair organized by the Center for Employment Services and Meritorious People every Monday, was invited to an in-depth interview and scheduled for a trial job this July."

Various forms of coordination

The merger with Hai Duong not only expands the geographical space, Hai Phong also has many potentials and strengths when becoming the locality with the third largest economy in the country, so many workers wish to come to Hai Phong to settle down.

Mr. Vu Thanh Tu in Hung Due Vuong Street (Hong Bang Ward) is working at Samsung Display Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Yen Phong Industrial Park, Bac Ninh Province). After many years of working away from home, Mr. Tu wants to find a similar job in Hai Phong to reduce the cost of renting a house and expensive travel. He hopes that in the coming time, the Hai Phong Center for Employment Services and Nursing for Meritorious People will continue to connect to spread recruitment policies with the Job Exchanges of neighboring provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Bac Ninh... to attract Hai Phong people working elsewhere to return to their hometown to start a business.

Coordination activities for consulting and career guidance for future workforce will also continue to be promoted in the coming time. Mr. Do Duc Loi, Head of Student Affairs Department, Maritime and Waterway College 1 said: In the coming time, the Department will advise the school leaders to coordinate with related units to organize mobile job fairs right on campus. At the same time, deploy a variety of consulting and career guidance activities for students about to graduate, helping them to orient their careers early, enter the labor market and have a stable income. The school will also expand the consulting space, diversify the forms of connection to increase the effectiveness of job referrals.

Mr. Ho Hai, Deputy Director of the City Center for Employment Services and Meritorious People, informed: The Center will continue to invest, supplement equipment, and select suitable human resources to improve the quality of information updates on the fanpage and website vieclamhaiphong.net, and promote the introduction of preferential recruitment policies of enterprises in Hai Phong. Thereby, spreading recruitment information in the community, expanding the connection between labor supply and demand between the East and West of the city. In addition, the Center is researching and developing a plan to coordinate the organization of online job fairs with enterprises under the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board and units with legal status to send workers to work abroad. The Center also promotes cooperation with neighboring provinces and cities to expand employment opportunities for workers.
