In recent times, the Vietnam Fatherland Front system of Thu Dau Mot City has promoted its pioneering role in implementing the City Party Committee's project on "Improving the quality of the campaign to build a cultural and civilized urban lifestyle in the period of 2021-2025", the campaign "Urban greening" in the period of 2024-2030 and the following years in the city. Through propaganda and mobilization work as well as practical actions of the Vietnam Fatherland Front system, the city has actively contributed to effectively implementing the goals of building Thu Dau Mot City "Green - friendly", a place worth investing, living and working.
Actively building a "Green - friendly" city
From the beginning of 2024 up to now, along with the implementation of regular tasks according to the plan, the Vietnam Fatherland Front system of Thu Dau Mot City has promoted propaganda, mobilization, launching emulation movements, building models to effectively implement Project 02-DA/TU of the Provincial Party Committee on "Mass mobilization work to participate in building a cultural and civilized lifestyle (VH-VM)" in Binh Duong province in the period of 2021-2025; Project "Improving the quality of the movement (CVĐ) to build a cultural and civilized urban lifestyle in the period of 2021-2025" of Thu Dau Mot City Party Committee as well as implementing the "Urban greening" movement in the period of 2024-2030 and the following years in the city.

Accordingly, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the city, the Fatherland Front of 14 wards and the Front Working Committee of the residential areas have registered to manage 134 civilized, green - clean - beautiful roads and alleys; at the same time, regularly propagate and mobilize union members, association members and people to raise awareness and actions in complying with environmental protection regulations such as throwing garbage in the right place, at the right time and at the prescribed location. The Fatherland Front of the wards also actively coordinate to clean up, collect garbage, remove illegal advertisements and classified ads, plant flowers on the roads, contributing to building Thu Dau Mot City "Civilized - Clean - Beautiful - No Garbage".
Ms. Truong Thi Thu Hien, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thu Dau Mot City, said that one of the effective models in building a civilized urban area, building a "Zero Garbage City" of the city's Fatherland Front system is the establishment of 140 self-managed environmental protection and climate change response teams with 8,400 members, including 22 self-managed environmental protection teams among religious people with 914 members. In addition, the city's Fatherland Front has established 5 propaganda teams to guide the classification of domestic solid waste at source in boarding houses, social housing areas, residential areas, markets in the area... to propagate and mobilize people to classify waste at source according to the city's plan. These activities have received a very positive response from member organizations, religious organizations, party members, union members, association members and people of the city, bringing about many positive results.
In addition to propaganda and mobilization among union members, members, and core forces, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Thu Dau Mot City has coordinated to organize 3 programs to launch in religious establishments to participate in implementing the criteria of "5 exemplary citizens", building a "City without garbage" and the movement "Each person plants at least one tree by 2024". Up to now, religious establishments in the area have planted and cared for trees in the premises of worship facilities with over 600 trees of various types, worth nearly 700 million VND; mobilized parishioners, Buddhists, and believers to plant 2,500 trees of various types at home... |
Towards "greening" the city
After nearly 6 months of implementing the "Urban Greening" campaign plan and aiming to build a "Green - Friendly City" in the period of 2024-2030 and the following years in Thu Dau Mot City, with the attention and direction of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the high solidarity and unity of the entire city's political system, especially the active response of cadres, party members, union members, association members and people of all walks of life, have contributed to bringing positive results and high effects in the implementation process. In particular, the Vietnam Fatherland Front system of the city and its member organizations have propagated and mobilized union members, association members and people to respond to the movements "Each person plants at least one tree", "Each house contributes a green area". As a result, the city has mobilized the planting of over 100,000 trees of all kinds, of which the Fatherland Front system has mobilized the planting of over 15,000 trees of all kinds.
Not only promoting propaganda and mobilizing people of all walks of life to actively respond to the campaign, the Vietnam Fatherland Front system in the city also joins hands to plant and care for trees to protect the ecological environment, improve the urban landscape, respond to climate change, contribute to sustainable socio -economic development and improve the quality of people's lives.
According to the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thu Dau Mot City, up to now, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its organizations have implemented 7 tree gardens, including "Great Unity Tree Garden", "Youth Tree Garden", "Trade Union Tree Garden", "Women's Tree Garden to Green Thu Land", tree gardens of Veterans Association, Elderly People, Red Cross with over 2,000 trees. In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has directed the Vietnam Fatherland Fronts of wards to implement "Great Unity Tree Gardens", "Front Worker's Tree Gardens", "Fruit Tree Theme Gardens" and implement flower routes with over 3,200 trees. Notably, the tree gardens and routes implemented by the Vietnam Fatherland Front system and its member organizations are all funded by social mobilization. On the other hand, to have a source of plants for the following years, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the city has launched the Fatherland Front of the wards to implement 12 "Front Nurseries" with nearly 10,000 seedlings (including timber trees, fruit trees and ornamental flowers of all kinds...).

It can be affirmed that, through the organization of effective, practical programs, activities and models closely related to life, it has contributed to creating a strong change in awareness, promoting the spirit of self-awareness and sense of responsibility of cadres, union members, association members and people in implementing the urban cultural and moral lifestyle and gradually becoming the routine and habit of the city's people.
