The Moroccan international has not played for the Red Devils since September 20 due to injury. However, he was present at the national team training camp in the recent 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Africa.

Mazraoui is still undergoing medical assessment and full recovery and will not play in either of Morocco's matches.

This week, the 27-year-old defender returned to Carrington to train, preparing for the match against Liverpool in round 8 of the Premier League.

The former Bayern Munich player had fitness problems before the 2025/26 season started, causing him to miss 4/5 of MU's friendly matches.

Mazraoui was sidelined for more than a month and returned in a 3-2 win over Burnley at the end of August. He then played in two other matches against Man City and Chelsea.

However, Mazraoui missed the games against Brentford and Sunderland due to a mysterious injury. Now is the perfect time for him to return and strengthen the Red Devils' defense.

Mazraoui is a key member of the tactical scheme that coach Amorim applied to MU. Last season, the Moroccan star started 38/42 matches that the Portuguese coach was in charge of.

Statistics show that Mazraoui played a total of 57 matches in the 2024/25 season and only had a short break at the beginning of the year due to illness. However, so far this season, he has only played 3 matches.

The former Bayern Munich player's versatility helps Amorim adjust his tactics flexibly, as Mazraoui can take on the role of right wing-back or right center-back.
