MU immediately parted ways with 3 players

Just minutes after the 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on the evening of May 25, Manchester United confirmed that they would part ways with Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans at the same time due to the end of their contracts.

Eriksen and Lindelof were not retained by MU.

MU's homepage announced: "We would like to thank Victor, Jonny and Christian for their contributions during their time at the club, and wish them the best in their future journeys."

Jonny Evans is a Manchester United academy icon, spending nearly a decade at Old Trafford before leaving the club in 2015. Returning in 2023 under Ten Hag, the Northern Irish centre-back still has experience, but his age has limited his playing time.

Christian Eriksen has played 107 games for MU since joining in 2022. In the context of the "Red Devils" preparing to carry out a comprehensive reform, the Danish midfielder was not renewed. He left the club with a League Cup and an FA Cup.

Victor Lindelof was bought from Benfica for £31m in 2017. He made 284 appearances, won two domestic cups, and left as quietly as he always did.

Not stopping there, according to British media, MU will put the entire squad on the transfer market this summer, no name is inviolable.

The underlying cause comes from the fact that the Old Trafford team cannot qualify for the Champions League next season, thereby losing up to 100 million pounds in revenue.

Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw, Andre Onana and Harry Maguire could all be sold, most notably the club captain, who has publicly expressed his desire to leave if the board feel it is necessary.
