The Provincial Youth Union has directed the commune and ward unions to coordinate with units to organize the "Green Summer" program to ensure safety, practicality, effectiveness, and widespreadness, in line with the policy of "3 links" (linking forces, linking localities, linking communities). At the same time, orienting union bases to implement volunteer activities related to students' expertise and in line with the practical needs of the locality.
Accordingly, the commune and ward delegations have proactively advised the Party Committee and the government to review the households in difficult circumstances that need help; the projects that need to be built and renovated as well as the estimated amount of work and human resources that need to be mobilized. The commune and ward delegations have also proactively contacted local schools to arrange accommodation and living space for volunteers; assigned union members to support volunteer groups during their activities in the locality. At the same time, the grassroots union has also proactively mobilized union members and youth in the area to coordinate in implementing projects and tasks in the area. Thereby, not only creating favorable conditions for volunteer teams but also improving the effectiveness of their activities.
Deploying volunteer activities in the province, volunteer teams have actively organized summer activities, taught life skills to children; helped families harvest agricultural products; implemented youth projects associated with building new rural areas and civilized urban areas... Besides arranging volunteers to organize activities, volunteer groups have also connected many resources to build meaningful projects for the community such as: village road lighting projects, children's playgrounds, renovating cultural house grounds, painting murals, concreting roads, renovating cultural houses, building clean water projects... The total value of each group's activities ranges from 20 to 300 million VND.
Ms. Dam Minh Phuong, Vice President of the Lang Son Student Association in Hanoi, said: From July 7 to 13, more than 40 volunteers of the association implemented the "Green Summer" program in Chien Thang commune. Mr. Luong Van Thanh, Tan Minh village, Chien Thang commune said: My family has nearly 3 sao of chili peppers. It has been raining continuously for the past few days. If we don't harvest them in time, they will rot and fall. Thanks to the support of volunteer students, my family was able to harvest them in time. Not only helping my family, the students also helped clean up the village roads, trim trees, and concretize the school yard. These are very practical tasks that contribute to preserving the green, clean, and beautiful environment.
Each volunteer group that comes to Lang Son leaves behind meaningful projects for the community. These projects not only affirm the pioneering and creative spirit of the youth but also actively contribute to supporting communes and wards in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.
