Located at an altitude of 2,000-2,300m above sea level, Nam Nghep village (also known as Nam Nghiep) in Ngoc Chien commune, Muong La district, Son La province, is known as the "capital" of hawthorn flowers in the Northwest region. It boasts the largest hawthorn cultivation area in Son La province, spanning thousands of hectares, including approximately 800 hectares of centuries-old trees.

Every March, when the hawthorn blossoms bloom white across the forest, the rolling hills and mountains here seem to don a new coat, inviting tourists to admire the majestic beauty and explore the rich H'Mông culture.

The hawthorn flower is simple and rustic, a symbol of the resilient vitality of the highlands.
