Heavy rain causes landslides and traffic disruptions in Chieu Luu commune

Heavy rain from the night of July 5 and 6 caused many landslides and flooding on several roads in the mountainous commune of Chieu Luu (Nghe An).

This morning (July 7), Mr. Lo Van Thai - Chairman of the People's Committee of Chieu Luu Commune ( Nghe An ) said that in the commune there were many landslides causing traffic jams and many overflow points were flooded due to heavy rain. In addition, in the commune there were 5 households affected by heavy rain.

"Since the night of July 5, heavy rain has occurred, causing landslides at many traffic points. Local authorities have not yet had time to fix the situation, but on the night of July 6, there was heavy rain, causing the landslides to become even more severe. Currently, the route from Chieu Luu to Bao Thang (old) is impassable due to the large amount of landslides and flooding caused by streams and streams," said Mr. Lo Van Thai.

This morning, the local government of Chieu Luu commune assigned forces to be on duty at landslide and flood points to guide people to travel safely. At the same time, the commune promptly visited and encouraged 5 households whose houses were hit by landslides in Xieng Thu, Luu Thang and Luu Tien villages, each with gifts worth 500 thousand VND.
