The internal village road in Muoi Noi A has been paved with concrete and is kept clean.

In Muoi Noi, the road from National Highway 6 to the commune center and the inter-village roads have been paved with concrete, and both sides have been cleared and cleaned, facilitating travel and the exchange and sale of goods and agricultural products. This is thanks to the villages regularly organizing road cleaning; mobilizing people to collect and dispose of household waste properly; and managing livestock waste to prevent environmental pollution. Commune organizations such as the Women's Union, Youth Union, Veterans' Association, and Farmers' Association actively participate in environmental sanitation activities, planting trees, and building a green, clean, and beautiful landscape.

Comrade Lo Van Son, Secretary of the Youth Union branch in Sang Sang village, said: "Promoting the pioneering spirit of young people, the Youth Union members in the village regularly encourage their relatives to actively clean up their family's living environment; collect and sort waste at the source; not keep livestock under the house or near the house; collect and dispose of pesticide packaging in the designated places,... Every week, the Youth Union members in the village actively participate in cleaning up the environment."

People in Muoi Noi commune keep their livestock away from their houses.

Collecting and sorting household waste has become a familiar practice for the people. Ms. Lo Thi Van, from Sang Sang village, shared: "Every day, we collect ordinary household waste and food processing by-products and put them in a compost pit to fertilize our plants; recyclable waste such as plastic bottles, cans, and cardboard are gathered in one place to sell, ensuring environmental hygiene and providing extra money to buy books, notebooks, and pens for our children's studies."

Environmental protection management has always been a priority for the Party Committee and the local government of Muoi Noi commune. Environmental protection laws have been widely disseminated to the people, leading to significant improvements in waste collection and treatment. Businesses and production facilities in the area have signed commitments to fully comply with environmental protection laws, such as investing in and constructing waste storage and treatment systems as required. As a result, by the end of 2025, all hazardous waste in the commune will be collected and treated; and 68.18% of household solid waste will be collected and treated.

However, environmental protection efforts in Muoi Noi commune still face some limitations. Some households raising livestock are still interspersed within residential areas, posing a risk of environmental pollution that has not been thoroughly addressed. In some villages, waste from used pesticide packaging is not collected regularly. The construction of a central waste treatment facility for the commune has not yet been implemented, leading to difficulties in waste collection and treatment...

In accordance with Plan No. 66/KH-UBND dated March 19, 2026, of the Son La Provincial People's Committee on communication to raise awareness about environmental protection in Son La province in 2026, the People's Committee of Muoi Noi commune has implemented activities suitable to the local conditions. Ms. Quang Thi Phuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune, said: The commune focuses on disseminating the regulations of the 2020 Environmental Protection Law and guiding documents through various forms such as: broadcasting through the public address system, village meetings, group activities, billboards, slogans, and social media. They are also promoting the sorting, collection, and processing of household waste; limiting the use of non-biodegradable plastic bags; building habits of maintaining environmental hygiene in the community; and encouraging people to move livestock out from under their houses and properly dispose of livestock waste to prevent environmental impact. Organize activities in response to World Environment Day (June 5th), the Clean Up the World Campaign (in September 2026), and environmental sanitation campaigns and tree planting in residential areas, schools, and inter-village roads (regularly and on major holidays).

Protecting the environment is the responsibility of the entire society. With the involvement of local Party committees and authorities, the people of Muoi Noi are striving to build a green, clean, and beautiful living environment, contributing to fulfilling the environmental criteria in the local new rural development program.
