The White House has announced a halt to all military aid to Ukraine, days after a row between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Reuters quoted a White House official on March 3 confirming that the US was suspending all military aid to Ukraine after a war of words between the two leaders in the Oval Office.
The US has decided to halt and reassess aid to ensure it is helping to move toward a resolution, the official said, adding that the decision will remain in effect until President Trump determines that Ukraine’s leaders have demonstrated a sincere commitment to peace , according to Bloomberg and Fox News.
What are the consequences for Ukraine if the US cuts aid?
Fox News quoted a Trump administration official as saying that the move was not a permanent end to aid but merely a "pause."
Meanwhile, Bloomberg reported that all US military equipment that has not yet been delivered to Ukraine will be delayed, including weapons being transported by planes and ships or at transit points in Poland.

President Trump is said to have ordered US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to implement the aid freeze.
The news came hours after President Trump told reporters at the White House that he had not discussed withholding military aid to Ukraine but added that Mr Zelensky should be more grateful for US support.
The Ukrainian side has not yet responded to the latest move. Over the past three years, since Russia began its military campaign in Ukraine, the US has provided billions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine.
