Isak's goal couldn't save Sweden from defeat to Norway.

At the Ullevaal Stadium in Oslo, Norway had little difficulty defeating Sweden. In the first half, the home team quickly established dominance and took a 3-0 lead. Jorgen Strand Larsen shone brightly with a brace, alongside a goal from Antonio Nusa, completely dismantling the Swedish defense.

A notable highlight of the match was the appearance of Alexander Isak on the bench. The Liverpool striker was brought on in the 62nd minute and immediately made his mark with a powerful run down the left wing before finishing with a delicate shot to score Sweden's consolation goal in the 76th minute.

In contrast to the former Newcastle striker, Haaland simply sat in the stands to watch his teammates play. The Manchester City forward had just enjoyed a hugely successful season with a double of FA Cup and Carabao Cup titles and an impressive goalscoring record (38 goals in all competitions).

This match is an important stepping stone for both teams before heading to North America for the 2026 World Cup. At the biggest football event on the planet, Norway is in a challenging Group I alongside France, Senegal, and Iraq. Meanwhile, Sweden will have to give their all in Group F to compete for a place in the next round against the Netherlands, Japan, and Tunisia.
