The year of booming transportation projects

According to the Department of Construction Investment Management ( Ministry of Transport ), 2025 will be a boom year with 12 important transport projects starting construction.

Many bidding packages of the Long Thanh International Airport Construction Investment Project are being implemented.

Specifically, the outstanding projects include My An - Cao Lanh Expressway Phase 1; Ninh Cuong Bridge over Ninh Co River on National Highway 37B; Investment in construction of Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway under the PPP method; Expansion of the North - South Expressway in the East, Cao Bo - Mai Son section; Cho Moi - Bac Kan route; Route connecting Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway with Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway; Project to expand the North - South Expressway in the East, La Son - Hoa Lien section.

In addition to road projects, 2025 is forecast to see important progress in other transport infrastructure sectors, including the construction of Cam Ly railway bridge; Upgrading and expanding a number of bridges and tunnels on National Highway 1 (Xuong Giang, Gianh, Quan Hau bridges and Deo Ngang tunnel); Developing waterway and logistics corridors in the southern region; Vietnam Aviation Administration information system...

According to the Department of Construction Investment Management, out of a total of 71 transport projects using public investment capital in the 2021-2025 period, 69 projects have been approved for investment in principle and 65 projects have been officially approved for investment. However, there are still a number of projects that have not been approved, including: upgrading National Highway 24B Quang Ngai; expanding the North-South Expressway in the East, Cam Lo - La Son section; adjusting the My Thuan - Can Tho Expressway project, phase 1... However, it is noteworthy that in 2024 alone, 13 transport projects are planned to start construction, of which 11 projects have been officially implemented. The remaining 2 projects include the renovation and expansion of National Highway 46, Vinh City - Nam Dan Town (Nghe An) section and the renovation and upgrade of Quy Nhon channel for 50,000DWT ships (about to start construction).

Thus, transport projects in 2025 will continue to contribute to completing the national transport network, while promoting the socio-economy of regions across the country.

In addition, according to the plan issued by the State Audit, in 2025, many key transport projects will be audited by this agency. Specifically, in 2025, the State Audit will audit construction activities and management and use of investment capital in a number of projects. Including:

- Investment project to build a connecting route from National Highway 1A to Cau Gie - Ninh Binh Expressway via Liem Son intersection, passing through Binh Luc district to National Highway 21A, National Highway 21B, connecting the two expressways Hanoi - Hai Phong and Hanoi - Ninh Binh; connecting two special national relics, Tran Thuong Temple (Ha Nam province) and Tran Temple Historical - Cultural Relic Site (Nam Dinh province);

-Component project 1A, Tan Van - Nhon Trach section, part of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3;

- Investment project to build Rach Mieu 2 bridge connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces;

- Ho Chi Minh road project, Rach Soi - Ben Nhat section and Go Quao - Vinh Thuan section;

- Some coastal road projects, such as the 129 coastal road completion project (Vo Chi Cong); the coastal road project connecting the East-West economic corridor, Quang Tri province - phase 1;

- An Phu traffic intersection project, Thu Duc city;

- Investment project to build main roads connecting with functional areas in Thai Binh Provincial Economic Zone;

- Investment project to build Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway phase 1;

- Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway construction investment project phase 1;

- Project of essential works in the Airport under the Long Thanh International Airport Construction Investment Project Phase 1; Project of constructing passenger terminal T3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport;

- Project to build a road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan Street - Cong Hoa Street, Tan Binh District, HCMC...

Over the years, the Ministry of Transport has invited the State Audit to determine the actual construction volume of transport projects. Especially for BOT projects to be completed before 2022, thanks to the participation of the State Audit, many projects have reduced the toll collection time by 5-10 years.
