This morning, June 27, at the high school graduation exam site located at Me Tri Secondary School (Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi ), a male student was brought by his family on a stretcher because he had just had a traffic accident yesterday afternoon.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tham (residing in Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi, the male student's father) said that his son is Nguyen Trung Kien, a student at Hanoi High School for Gifted Sports .
Mr. Tham said that the accident happened to his son on the afternoon of June 26, after finishing the Math exam in the 2025 high school graduation exam . According to the camera recording, on the way home, when arriving at the gas station area on Le Quang Dao Street (Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi), a car hit Kien from behind, causing him to fall. The accident caused Kien to suffer cervical vertebrae injury, broken rib number 1, pleural effusion,... Immediately after that, he was taken to the emergency room and had his neck immobilized.
To be able to take the final exams and complete the high school graduation exam, Mr. Tham's family asked the hospital to take Kien to the exam site this morning, June 27.
“We left the hospital at 5am to go to the exam site. Even though we knew my son was in pain, we hoped he would finish the exam. He could still read, but he could only lie down and write and fill in the answers. Our family wrote a commitment before he took the exam, but we still had no way of knowing how he would fare in the exam hall. I told him that if he was in any kind of pain or weakness, he should tell us so the doctor could intervene,” Tham shared.
However, Mr. Tham is also more assured because in addition to his family, Kien also has the support of medical staff.
From the moment his child entered the exam room, throughout the elective exam, Mr. Tham sat anxiously in front of the exam gate.
According to Mr. Tham, in this final exam, his child will take the History and Economic and Legal Education exams.
Among these is the exam that Kien wanted to use for university admission, not just for high school graduation. Kien's initial wish was to apply to Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports. However, after this accident, Mr. Tham understood that his son's dream would be very difficult to fulfill.
At 9:30 this morning, male student Nguyen Trung Kien finished his elective exam in a conscious state and was taken home by ambulance by his father shortly after.
