Male student hospitalized after being punished by standing up and sitting down 200 times

The story of 14-year-old Liu Kai, a student at Tuyen Duong Secondary School (Hunan, China), being hospitalized in critical condition has angered many people.

Accordingly, the boy's father said that because his son talked in class, he was punished by the homeroom teacher to stand up and sit down 200 times. After being punished, Liu Kai felt uncomfortable for many days.

Therefore, during Physical Education class, I told the teacher that my leg hurt but I still had to do the exercise with the reason: "Jogging slowly reduces pain and helps restore muscles."

After PE class, Liu Kai lost feeling in one leg. His family took him to Ningxiang People's Hospital for examination. The doctor diagnosed him with rhabdomyolysis and liver damage. Liu Kai's condition did not improve after 3 days of hospitalization. Therefore, he was transferred to Xiangya Hospital of Central South University for blood transfusion and dialysis.

The above incident caused a stir in public opinion. A representative of the localeducation department said that Liu Kai's health condition was stable and his life was not in danger.

The Department of Education is investigating the incident. The school said it will pay the student’s medical bills. The principal and teachers involved have been suspended.

Many people think that the teacher's punishment is unreasonable. This incident is creating a wave of anger on social networks.
