Outdated firmware in IoT devices can contain serious security vulnerabilities. To address these challenges, Microchip is enhancing its TrustMANAGER platform to include secure software code signing and firmware over-the-air (FOTA) updates, as well as remote management of firmware images, cryptographic keys, and digital certificates.

These advances support compliance with the European Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), and standards such as EN 303 645 from the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI).
Microchip's ECC608 TrustMANAGER leverages Kudelski IoT's keySTREAM™ Software as a Service (SaaS) model to deliver a secure, on-chip authentication designed to store, protect, and manage cryptographic keys and certificates.
“The addition of FOTA services to Microchip’s TrustMANAGER platform provides a scalable solution that eliminates the need for costly, manual, static infrastructure security updates,” said Nuri Dagdeviren, vice president of Microchip’s security products business unit. “FOTA updates enable customers to conserve resources while meeting compliance requirements and helping protect their products against emerging threats and future regulations.”
