Previously, Duy Phong had excelled in achieving the top score in the 2025 Hanoi National University's aptitude test with a score of 130/150, surpassing the top scorer last year by 1 point. In the second round of the Hanoi University of Science and Technology's thinking assessment test, the male student scored 90.54, placing him in the group of 4 candidates with the highest scores in the country.
"I am very happy and proud of my results. I am not too surprised because after comparing the exam answers, I hoped to get a perfect score," Duy Phong shared.

Achieving high scores in previous aptitude and thinking assessment exams helped Duy Phong reduce pressure when entering the graduation exam, while keeping a comfortable mentality and confidence to complete the exams well.
Evaluating this year's exam, the male student found it quite suitable. However, some questions required flexible thinking, especially in Math.
Sharing about his study method, Duy Phong said he always focuses on listening to the teacher's lectures in class, combining group study to easily discuss and answer questions about the parts he doesn't understand. At home, the 10X takes the time to do exercises and focus on reinforcing the knowledge he often makes mistakes with.
During the practice test, male students pay attention to remembering the types of questions they have been familiar with, in order to create reflexes when entering the exam room, if they encounter them again, they can quickly recognize the appropriate way to do or solve them.
Every day, Duy Phong does not study too late and usually tries to go to bed before 11pm. However, before each evening study session, the 10X always sets specific goals for the exercises to do and is determined to complete the plan. In addition to studying, the male student also spends reasonable time relaxing such as watching entertainment clips and following e -sports to reduce stress.
Before becoming valedictorian in college, the male student won second prize in English at the city level in grade 9 and first prize in Chemistry at the school cluster in grade 10. "I think there is no secret formula for success. The only way is to constantly strive, and opportunities will come," Duy Phong said.

Mr. Vu Viet Hung, homeroom teacher of class 12A5, did not feel surprised when his student won the title of valedictorian nationwide because according to him, Duy Phong is an excellent student, good at all subjects. However, according to Mr. Hung, to achieve perfect scores in all 3 subjects is extremely difficult, requiring great determination from the student as well as support from family and teachers.
"Duy Phong is a cheerful, sociable boy with a very special mindset," said teacher Hung.
With outstanding strengths in block A00 and impressive exam results, the male student from Hanoi is considering applying for admission to a major related to control and automation engineering at Hanoi University of Science and Technology or University of Technology - Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Nguyen Duy Phong's achievements bring glory to Chuong My A High School - a school in the suburbs of Hanoi. Although the entrance score is not too high (in the 2025-2026 school year, the school's entrance score for grade 10 is 21 points), the school still makes its mark when for two consecutive years, students are ranked valedictorians in the Hanoi National University's aptitude test.
Before Duy Phong, former student Nguyen Mai Truc also won the top prize in this exam with a score of 129/150, leading all 6 exams in 2024.
Among the national valedictorians taking the 2025 high school graduation exam, there are 3 candidates from Hanoi. This is the locality with the most valedictorians in the country.
Along with Nguyen Duy Phong, candidate Nguyen Tu Quyet, Nguyen Gia Thieu High School is the valedictorian of block A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry) with a total absolute score of 30/30.
In addition, the double valedictorian of block A01 and D01 belongs to candidate Nguyen Viet Hung, grade 12 English major, Chu Van An High School for the Gifted. Calculating the total score in block A01 (Math, Physics, English), the male student scored 29.75 points and 29 points in block D01 (Math, Literature, English).
Hanoi is also the locality with the largest number of candidates taking the high school graduation exam in the country with about 126,000 candidates, an increase of about 15,000 students compared to 2024.
