On the evening of October 10, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Ba Tien, Vice Principal of Vinh University, said that the University has just decided to recognize Lang Duc Bang, a former student of Nghe An Ethnic Boarding School No. 2, as admitted to the History Pedagogy major.
Previously, in the 2025 high school graduation exam, Lang Duc Bang scored a total of 29 points in block C00, including 9.25 points in Literature; 9.75 points in History and 10 points in Geography. With this result, Bang passed his first choice to enter the Border Guard Academy and was in the top 10 candidates with the highest entrance scores.

However, shortly after enrolling, he participated in a health check and discovered he had hepatitis B. Despite active treatment, the disease did not completely go away. On September 27, according to regulations of the Ministry of National Defense , he was forced to return to his hometown.
After returning to my hometown, I wanted to continue studying my second choice, which was to enroll in the History Pedagogy Department at Vinh University. However, at this time, Vinh University had completed enrollment for the Pedagogy Department.
The Border Guard Academy also sent a document to the Department of Higher Education - Ministry of Education and Training , Vinh University requesting the school to consider and create conditions for candidate Luong Duc Bang to be considered for admission according to his wishes to register at the school.
With the wish to continue his university dream, Lang Duc Bang also sent a letter to the Minister of Education and Training, Vinh University and promised to try his best to study and practice to contribute to society and become a good teacher, dedicated to his profession, and do his best to bring letters to ethnic minority children.

In response to the wishes of the Thai ethnic male student, Vinh University decided to accept him to study at the Faculty of History Education.
Lang Duc Bang is the only son in a poor family in Ke Me village, Mau Thach commune. Throughout his high school years, he always strived to improve himself. He dreamed of becoming a soldier or a teacher, both to contribute and to reduce the burden of tuition fees, helping him to pursue university. In August 2025, Bang was one of 75 excellent students in the high school graduation exam recognized by the People's Committee of Nghe An province.
