Improve the quality of child care, nurturing and education

DNO - On the morning of August 28, the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang summarized the 2024-2025 school year and deployed preschool education tasks for the 2025-2026 school year. Nearly 600 delegates from the People's Committees of wards and communes, and principals of preschools in the city attended.

Despite many difficulties in the 2024-2025 school year, preschool education in Da Nang city (old) and Quang Nam province (old) achieved many outstanding results.

Specifically: The network scale has developed strongly, the whole city has 481 kindergartens (296 public, 185 non-public), more than 1,500 independent facilities, mobilizing 154,000 children to go to school (reaching 83.9%). The rate of preschool children going to school reached 95.8%, in which Da Nang (old) stands out with the model of accepting children under 18 months.

Localities promptly implemented resolutions and policies to support children and teachers, especially in industrial parks and disadvantaged areas, with a total implementation cost of more than 67.7 billion VND.

At the same time, improve the quality of care, nutrition and education of children. 98% of children have meals at boarding schools, 100% of children have regular health check-ups; the rate of malnutrition, stunting and overweight has decreased compared to the beginning of the school year; no food poisoning has occurred in preschools.

The sector has many educational innovation activities such as: the topic "Building a child-centered kindergarten" is widely deployed; many schools apply Montessori, Reggio Emilia, STEM/STEAM teaching methods.

In particular, the city invested nearly 300 billion VND to renovate and upgrade schools; Quang Nam (old) built 7 new schools and 3 school locations with nearly 100 billion VND. 31 schools were recognized as meeting national standards during the school year.

In addition to the achieved results, there is still a shortage of teachers, especially in disadvantaged areas; facilities are not yet synchronized; the rate of mobilizing children to attend class is still low in some wards and communes of Quang Nam (old); the quality of some preschool education facilities is not guaranteed...

Speaking at the conference, Director of the Department of Education and Training Le Thi Bich Thuan emphasized that in the 2025-2026 school year, the preschool education sector will focus on implementing the theme "Happy schools, innovation and creativity, improving the quality of care, nurturing and education of children".

The sector focuses on improving the effectiveness of state management, enhancing autonomy and responsibility in preschools; ensuring absolute physical and mental safety for children, preventing violence and injuries; improving the quality of health care and nutrition.

Prepare conditions for implementing the new preschool education program; promote innovation in methods, application of information technology and digital transformation in management and education.

Implement universal preschool education for children aged 3-5; maintain and improve the quality of universal education for children aged 5. Develop the network of schools, teachers and management staff, especially in industrial parks and densely populated areas; strive to increase the rate of schools meeting national standards.

Encourage socialization, international cooperation, mobilize resources for preschool education development; replicate advanced educational models and methods...
