Since the beginning of the year, in addition to activities to care for and protect the rights of union members and workers, trade unions at all levels have regularly coordinated with enterprises to organize cultural, artistic and sports activities to improve the spiritual life of workers.

Create a playground for workers

Recently, the Trade Union of SMC Manufacturing Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Long Thanh District) organized a men's football tournament for workers. The tournament attracted 19 teams with 190 workers from production lines in the factory. After 2 months of competition, the Organizing Committee awarded the 5 teams with the highest achievements with the amount of 6-10 million VND. In addition, there are also secondary prizes such as: style, top scorer, golden ball and best goalkeeper...

According to the Provincial Federation of Labor, in the series of activities of Workers' Month 2023, the whole province has 1,454 trade unions organizing cultural, sports and gift-giving activities, attracting over 293 thousand union members and workers to participate. Thereby, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of union members and workers.

According to the company's Trade Union, the football tournament aims to create a healthy and useful playground for employees after stressful and tiring working hours. Thereby, it helps employees improve their health, have the opportunity to exchange; at the same time, strengthen the solidarity of the labor collective. Through these activities, it demonstrates the close coordination between the Executive Board of the Trade Union and the employer in caring for the cultural and spiritual life of employees, contributing to building harmonious and stable labor relations in the enterprise.

Grasping the need to exercise, express passion for sports, make friends and relieve stress after stressful working hours, especially improving the spiritual life of employees, the Trade Union of Dona Pacific Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Trang Bom District) regularly organizes sports activities for employees to compete. All tournaments have investments in grounds, costumes and awards for employees.

Mr. Tran Minh Hung, a worker at the company, said that by participating in sports activities organized by the Union, employees experience a vibrant and healthy competitive atmosphere; at the same time, they have the opportunity to bond, increase solidarity and exchange and learn more. From there, employees improve their spiritual life, especially training and improving their health to better serve production workers.

Along with sports activities, workers’ singing contests, modern dance, fashion contests, etc. are also organized by the Trade Unions at enterprises. In particular, since the beginning of the year, although many enterprises have had difficulties with orders, they have still created conditions for the Trade Unions to organize entertainment playgrounds for workers. From there, it has promptly met the entertainment needs of workers and encouraged workers to exercise to regenerate their labor force better and better.

Meet the entertainment needs of employees

Ms. Bui Thi Kim Thao, who lives in KP.2, Binh Da Ward (Bien Hoa City) said that, in addition to 8 hours of work in the factory, after work, workers just hang around in their rented rooms to eat, sleep, watch their phones or call their families. Many workers are looking forward to having cultural facilities near the industrial park so they can go to exercise and relieve stress after stressful working days.

According to many union officials, industrial parks are places of production and also places that attract a large number of workers to live, but most of them currently do not have cultural facilities to serve the needs of recreation, entertainment, and education of workers. Due to lack of space and places for recreation, workers live more introverted lives. Therefore, when the union organizes movements, workers are very excited and enthusiastically register to participate.

Ms. Tran Thi Hong Thao, President of Trang Bom District Labor Federation, said that understanding the lack of spiritual life of workers, every year, the district's Trade Unions at all levels organize a variety of activities for workers to entertain and improve their health. Specifically: men's and women's football tournaments, badminton, volleyball, cooking competitions, flower arrangement competitions, etc. Especially during the recent Workers' Month, the cultural and artistic movement took place enthusiastically in many units, attracting hundreds of workers to participate.

Although cultural and artistic activities are widely organized, in reality they still cannot meet the entertainment needs of the majority of workers in the province. This creates gaps in the lives of workers today. Therefore, localities need to coordinate with the Trade Union to further enhance their responsibility in organizing activities, creating a healthy playground for workers. Along with that, strengthen propaganda so that businesses see the value of health training for workers and have many policies for this activity.
