Enhance capacity to represent and protect workers

BAC NINH - This is the theme of the 1st Congress of the Lang Giang Commune Trade Union, term 2025-2030, held on the morning of October 11 at the Commune Conference Center. Attending were comrade Thach Van Chung, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation; representatives of the Party Committee, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and 96 official delegates.

Lang Giang Commune Trade Union was established under Decision No. 10/QD-LĐLĐ dated July 1, 2025 of the Executive Committee of the Bac Ninh Provincial Labor Federation; managing and directing the activities of 44 grassroots trade unions and nearly 5,000 union members in the communes of Lang Giang, Kep, and My Thai.

In recent times, trade union activities have undergone many innovations in content and methods with the core task of representing and taking better care of union members and workers. Notably, 44/44 enterprise-based trade unions have negotiated and signed collective labor agreements. The implementation of the agreements is closely monitored by the executive committee of the grassroots trade union; periodically reviewed, proposed to amend and supplement the provisions when necessary to ensure the rights of union members.

The work of propaganda, education, and raising awareness of workers has been promoted with rich content and forms; developing union members and establishing grassroots unions has achieved positive results. The organization and staff of the union from the commune to the grassroots have been improved and consolidated to meet the requirements of the tasks in the new situation. Women's work and financial management have been given attention. Union activities and the workers' movement in the commune have contributed to the successful implementation of socio -economic development goals, building an increasingly strong workforce and union organization.

The Executive Committee of Lang Giang Commune Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term was introduced to the Congress.

At the Congress, delegates focused on discussing and analyzing the achievements, shortcomings, limitations, causes and solutions. With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development", the Congress set out many targets to strive to complete in the 2025-2030 term such as: Every year, 90% of union members and workers are trained, propagated, disseminated and thoroughly grasped labor and trade union policies; 100% of new grassroots union presidents are trained and coached professionally; every year, more than 90% of enterprises organize labor conferences; 95% of enterprises with trade unions sign collective labor agreements. Strive to recruit 1,200 union members, establish 12 grassroots unions; mobilize 100% of enterprises employing 25 or more workers to establish trade unions...

To complete, Lang Giang Commune Trade Union focuses on 8 main tasks and solutions. In particular, focusing on better performing the role of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers; strengthening measures to develop union members, establish grassroots unions, and build strong union organizations; improving the quality and effectiveness of patriotic emulation movements; innovating the content and methods of women's activities associated with implementing gender equality, building prosperous and happy families; focusing on inspection and supervision...

Speaking at the Congress, comrade Thach Van Chung emphasized that, although newly established, Lang Giang Commune Trade Union has made efforts and been flexible in advising and organizing trade union activities, performing well the work of representing, caring for and protecting workers. To complete the targets and tasks in this term, he suggested that the Commune Trade Union should perform well the role of "big brother" of the grassroots trade union, advising and guiding the grassroots trade union to better perform the function of representing and caring for union members and workers, considering this an important function throughout the operation process. Strengthen and diversify propaganda and mobilization activities among workers, suitable to the conditions of the grassroots trade union and enterprises.

Regularly grasp the situation of workers, promptly detect and advise on effective solutions to arising problems, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in the enterprise; encourage workers to continuously study and improve their qualifications in all aspects, especially in law enforcement, discipline and industrial style. Focus on developing union members, establishing grassroots unions in the non-state sector, and building strong union organizations. Organize patriotic emulation movements well with content and methods suitable for each type of facility, industry and target.

At the Congress, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation announced the decisions on appointing 10 comrades to the Executive Committee, 2 comrades to the Standing Committee, 3 comrades to the Inspection Committee of the Lang Giang Commune Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term. Comrade Nguyen Thi Huyen Sam, Vice Chairwoman of the Commune Fatherland Front Committee, was appointed to hold the position of Chairwoman of the Commune Labor Federation. The delegation of the Lang Giang Commune Trade Union attending the 1st Congress of the Bac Ninh Provincial Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term was appointed to include 4 comrades.

Also here, the Commune Union organized to support people affected by storm No. 11. The amount of money raised by delegates attending the Congress was more than 12 million VND and will be transferred by the Commune Union to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Giang Commune to use for the right purpose to support people in flood-affected areas to overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.
