The 8th Student Foreign Language Festival is the key activity of the city's students to welcome the 7th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Student Association and the National Student Congress for the 2023-2028 term. At the same time, continue to implement the project "Supporting the improvement of foreign language proficiency for city students", strengthen solutions to accompany students in improving their foreign language proficiency, support students to strive to achieve the title of "5 Good Students" at all levels.

The festival attracted the participation of more than 2,000 students from 40 universities and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City. Students participated in and experienced many useful activities to improve their qualifications and communication skills such as: Presentation on the topic "The role of students in digital transformation, adapting to changes in the world ", talent contest, performing arts in English, "Ring the Golden Bell" contest on English knowledge, experiencing the cultures of other countries...

Student Quynh Hoa (first year, University of Finance and Marketing) shared: “The festival brought me a lot of useful knowledge through challenging games in English. I realized that I and my fellow students need to practice and improve their foreign languages more to meet the current human resource demands in the trend of global integration”. As for Phuong Anh (third year student, University of Finance and Marketing), participating in activities helped her interact with many students, especially foreign students, to improve her ability to communicate and behave in English. Through the festival, Phuong Anh also found suitable English courses to improve her English output standards for the upcoming university graduation exam.

At the festival, students also tested their English proficiency, participated in exchange activities between lecturers, foreign students interacted with Vietnamese students on social and cultural topics, shared learning and studying abroad experiences. English language centers also launched challenging playgrounds in English, and provided advice on English learning programs.

Comrade Phan Tan Anh, Deputy Head of the Youth Union of the City Youth Union, Vice President of the Vietnam Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City shared: “Through the practical activities at the festival, the organizing committee hopes to help students confidently use foreign languages to explore themselves, learn about world cultures, and improve their international integration capacity. Another success of this festival is the festival of English clubs, teams, and groups across the city to exchange experiences, good practices, and effective models in learning English.”

It is known that, in response to the festival, online activities were previously deployed by the organizers on the website: englishcamp.sac.vn and the information page of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Student Association with the following contents: "Test your English" program to test and confirm English proficiency for free for students, "English - Tips & Tricks" section to share daily English learning experiences through visual and vivid products of students, "My love - My Ho Chi Minh city" section to create videos introducing famous places in the city in English...
