Scale and magnitude of key projects
Currently, Nam Dinh is focusing on implementing a number of key traffic projects in the province. Specifically:
Firstly, the Nam Dinh - Lac Quan - Coastal Road Construction Project . This new road is a strategic route connecting the center of Nam Dinh city with the southern and southeastern districts of the province, a radial axis connecting the belt routes I, II, III of Nam Dinh city, replacing the current role of National Highway 21, creating momentum for local socio-economic development. The route is connected to the Ninh Binh - Nam Dinh - Thai Binh - Hai Phong expressway which is being studied for investment and directly connected to the Coastal Road, meeting the development orientation, exploiting the coastal potential of Giao Thuy district of the province.
To develop the space on both sides of the road according to the plan and promote the effectiveness of project investment, the People's Committee of Nam Dinh province has assigned specialized agencies to develop a zoning plan for both sides of the route, and plan urban areas, trade - services, industrial clusters, etc. along the route.
Second, the project to build a development axis connecting the Nam Dinh province's marine economic zone with the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway . The project will contribute to improving connectivity, shortening the transportation distance between the Nam Dinh province's marine economic zone and the North - South expressway, connecting the regional transportation network and the national transportation system.
The project will create a breakthrough in socio-economic development, promote tourism development in the coastal economic zone of Nam Dinh province in particular, in Nam Dinh province and the Red River Delta region in general, ensure national security and defense, and prevent floods and storms. At the same time, gradually complete the province's transportation system according to the plan.

Third, the project to build a coastal road through Nam Dinh province . The project will improve connectivity, shorten the transportation distance between Nam Dinh province and neighboring provinces, and connect with the regional transportation network and the national transportation system.
In addition, it creates a breakthrough in socio-economic development, promotes tourism development of the Nam Dinh coastal economic zone in particular, of Nam Dinh province and the Red River Delta in general; ensures national security and defense, and prevents floods and storms. From there, it increases the completion of the transport network according to the transport development plan of Nam Dinh province until 2020, with a vision to 2030.
The concretization of the Vietnam coastal road was approved by the Prime Minister in the detailed planning in Decision No. 129/QD-TTg dated January 18, 2010, in which the section passing through Nam Dinh province belongs to the northern coastal region. The completed project will contribute to the formation of the North-South coastal corridor from Quang Ninh to Kien Giang to effectively exploit and use marine and coastal resources, serving the socio-economic development of coastal localities, strengthening national defense and security to firmly protect the country's sovereignty.
For Nam Dinh province in particular, the completion of the project will promote the exploitation and use of marine and coastal resources in Giao Thuy, Hai Hau, and Nghia Hung districts, serving the socio-economic development of coastal districts and the entire province.
Fourth, the project to build a bridge over the Day River connecting Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh provinces belongs to the Ninh Binh - Nam Dinh - Thai Binh - Hai Phong expressway . The project aims to connect important traffic routes of Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh provinces, gradually complete the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway, enhance regional and inter-regional connectivity in the Red River Delta, reduce the load on the existing traffic system, shorten the distance and travel time for traffic participants, and create momentum for socio-economic development.
Fifth, the Nam Dinh Provincial General Hospital Construction Investment Project. The project will gradually create a complete, modern and high-quality medical service infrastructure and facilities, creating favorable conditions for the existing Provincial General Hospital to switch to operation, serving medical examination and treatment, care and health improvement for the people of Nam Dinh province and neighboring areas, contributing to environmental protection and sustainable development of the locality.
