On the night of March 12, Russian forces launched attacks on Ukrainian military facilities across the country. Targets included logistics centers, military-industrial facilities, personnel deployment sites, and air defense system deployment areas.
Russian attacks have been reported in Ternopil, Lviv, Kharkiv, Khmelnitsky, Kyiv, and Odessa.
Russian drones attacked several facilities of the fuel and energy complex in western Ukraine. One of the targets was a local oil depot belonging to Lukoil-Ukraine in Kremenets, Ternopil region. The precise attack resulted in a large fire that broke out in the area, spreading for several tens of kilometers.
The second target was tanks at the Galneftegaz oil depot located in the town of Brody in the Lviv region. This facility was attacked by at least two Russian drones. This large oil depot plays a crucial role in supplying fuel and lubricants to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Amidst ongoing Russian operations on the eastern and southern fronts, the Ukrainian military command was forced to deploy additional Soviet and NATO air defense systems closer to the battlefield to bolster Ukraine's defenses. As a result, strategic industrial and military facilities in the Ukrainian rear were left unprotected, and Russian precision strikes led to increasing Ukrainian losses.
On March 12, the Russian Ministry of Defense also released footage showing the destruction of another US-made M142 HIMARS MLRS launcher serving the Ukrainian army. This is the second M142 HIMARS MLRS launcher confirmed to have been destroyed on the Ukrainian front lines.
According to SF, the M142 HIMARS MLRS system was detected by a Russian drone in the Nevelsky area of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic. Shortly afterward, it was attacked by a Russian Tornado-S MLR with 9M544 cluster bombs.
Last week, another high-quality video was also made public to confirm the destruction of a Ukrainian M142 HIMARS MLRS system near the village of Nikanorovka in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic.
