Russia has a long tradition of holding naval parades. According to historians, the first parade on March 18, 1699 with the participation of warships of the Azov Flotilla was organized by Peter the Great, who carried out a major reform and established the Russian navy. Since then, parades in Russia have been associated with historical events to celebrate victories or military glory.
