Nghi Thai Commune Camp (Nghi Loc District, Nghe An ) is held every 5 years, in late August, early September, on the occasion of the National Day holiday on September 2. Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh (head of Thai Loc hamlet) said that Thai Loc rattan and bamboo weaving village has 180 households, creating jobs for more than 600 workers, with an annual revenue of nearly 30 billion VND. "By using traditional products to decorate the camp, we want to promote our village's products and at the same time help children better understand the profession left by their ancestors," said Mr. Dinh.
Elderly artisan Nguyen Van Thuong (Thai Loc bamboo and rattan weaving village) used colored rattan strips to complete the decoration of the camp gate. The words "Proudly Continuing" and "September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2023" were created through weaving techniques and color combinations of rattan strips. "In addition to agricultural production, Thai Cat hamlet residents have a career in bamboo and rattan weaving and aquaculture. Therefore, in the decoration section of our unit, we have models associated with the daily production and economic development activities of the residents. To complete this task, the whole hamlet joined hands, each person doing a part of the work, for nearly a month, sometimes working until 2am the next day," Mr. Uong Van Do (Thai Cat hamlet) shared.
Rattan and bamboo products were brought to the festival by units for promotion and introduction. Rattan and bamboo products of Nghi Thai commune people have been exported to many countries, bringing a significant economic source of income to the locality.
