World Bank wants to promote rapid, inclusive growth in Vietnam

The World Bank expressed its continued cooperation with Vietnam under the Vietnam - World Bank Country Partnership Framework to promote rapid growth and sustainable, inclusive development in Vietnam.

On the sidelines of the APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting, on November 13, Minister Ho Duc Phoc had a bilateral meeting with Ms. Anna Bjerde - CEO of the World Bank, the Ministry of Finance informed.

At the meeting, Minister Ho Duc Phoc affirmed that the World Bank (WB) has always been an important partner supporting the Vietnamese Government in policy advice and financial resources over the years.

Regarding the direction of cooperation in the coming time, the Ministry of Finance hopes to continue receiving support from the World Bank through loans to prioritize the implementation of Vietnam's major projects in developing strategic transport infrastructure, renewable energy, smart agriculture, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, responding to climate change in the Mekong Delta and digital transformation.

For its part, the World Bank expressed its continued cooperation with Vietnam within the Vietnam - World Bank Country Partnership Framework to promote rapid growth and sustainable, inclusive development in Vietnam.

Previously, within the framework of activities at the APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting 2023, Minister Ho Duc Phoc had bilateral working sessions with the Australian Minister of Treasury, the Japanese Minister of State for Finance and the Singaporean Minister of Finance.

The 30th APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting took place on November 13 in San Francisco, USA. The meeting is part of the APEC Finance Ministers' Process in 2023, with the participation of Finance Ministers of 21 APEC economies and representatives of international organizations such as the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and APEC Business Advisory Council. Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc attended and spoke at the meeting.
