Phu Ly Education Sector applies IT in teaching and learning management

Identifying the application of information technology (IT) in teaching and learning management as a key task in implementing educational innovation, in recent years, the education sector of Phu Ly city has proactively deployed IT applications and carried out digital transformation, aiming to innovate teaching, learning and management methods, contributing to improving the quality of educational activities.

Implementing the Project "Enhancing the application of IT and digital transformation ineducation and training in the period of 2022 - 2025, with a vision to 2030", the education sector of Phu Ly city has issued documents guiding and directing schools in the area to deploy the tasks of applying IT, digital transformation and educational statistics; regularly coordinate with enterprises providing IT services and digital transformation to provide timely support to the sector.

From the 2023-2024 school year to now, the Department of Education and Training (DoET) of Phu Ly city has piloted the Document Management and Administration software system (VNPT iOffice). This is a software with the function of creating, sending, receiving, storing and looking up documents in an optimal and efficient way; optimizing the assignment of tasks, monitoring and evaluating the work progress of individuals or working groups in a transparent manner. Up to now, 100% of the unit's directive documents are processed in the network environment. At the same time, regularly coordinate with units to develop IT training programs for teachers and educational managers at schools. In particular, focusing on training on how to use applications such as: applying AI technology in teaching; online electronic grade books; accounting software ( MISA ); "Smart Attendance" software; EMIS, EPMIS, TEMIS reporting statistics, tax management, financial - asset management, library management, equipment management; electronic lesson plan preparation software...

Tran Phu Secondary School is currently one of the leading units in applying IT in teaching and learning management in the city. In the 2024-2025 school year, the school has more than 1,200 students with 34 classrooms. Currently, 34/34 classrooms are equipped with computers, wide-screen TVs connected to the internet; 100% of teachers in the school are equipped with laptops using basic software and tools to prepare lesson plans and design presentations proficiently. Thanks to the application of IT, lectures become more vivid, students are more excited about the lessons. Previously, students could only listen to lectures directly from teachers, but now, they can both listen to lectures and see real images from TVs and projectors, thereby helping teaching and learning activities become more diverse and effective...

Ms. Do Thi Thanh Hai, Principal of the school, said: Realizing the importance of applying IT, the school has proactively promoted activities associated with digital transformation. In the 2024-2025 school year, the school has put into use a smart - multifunctional classroom level 2 with 40 tablets, computers... ensuring good audio, image and video transmission features. In addition, the classroom is also integrated with electronic teaching software to help teachers convey knowledge to students as quickly as possible. Students can also interact with teachers through devices and lesson systems, data connected to the network. After a short time of use, the school's smart classroom has affirmed its positive role in supporting the teaching and learning activities of teachers and students.

It is known that, in addition to investing in facilities and equipment, Tran Phu Secondary School also focuses on improving teachers' knowledge and IT application skills. In each lesson, teachers focus on effectively exploiting teaching equipment and management software such as MS Team, Google Meet, Zoom or OLM system to flexibly deploy teaching methods. Along with that, the school has built a digital learning materials platform with over 463 lectures; coordinated with functional units to build a network of electronic contact books, smart attendance, helping parents to manage and receive information from students on the phone messaging system via VnEdu application, via zalo and grasp their children's learning and training activities regularly and continuously... contributing to strengthening the educational connection between school and family.

According to Mr. Do Van Dung, Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Phu Ly city, currently, 100% of schools in the city have high-speed fiber optic internet infrastructure to effectively serve management, teaching and learning activities, meeting the needs of information exchange throughout the industry. The industry database system and online education management system operate stably with 100% of student and teacher data updated in real time. All teachers have been given accounts to actively and regularly self-train online. IT is considered the key to innovation in teaching methods and creating attraction for both teachers and students.

The application of IT in teaching and learning management of schools has brought many practical benefits, contributing significantly to the working style of staff, teachers and students. Accordingly, most teachers have proactively learned, practiced, searched for information sources, accumulated knowledge to improve their qualifications and skills in using IT equipment. Designing lectures using electronic lesson plans has saved a lot of time compared to traditional teaching methods. Lectures prepared according to electronic lesson plans attract interest, create excitement in learning, create cohesion, thereby increasing interaction for teachers and students. Thereby, contributing to improving the quality of education of schools through each school year... This is an important factor for the education sector of Phu Ly city to continue to implement digital transformation, apply IT to improve the quality of education in the coming time.
