According to the report of the Ministry of Education and Training at the 2025 Higher Education Conference, block V (including the fields of Mathematics and Statistics, Computer Science and Information Technology, Engineering Technology, Engineering, Production and Processing, Architecture and Construction, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Veterinary Medicine) has the largest training scale in recent years, with the number of students increasing steadily every year.
Specifically, in the 2024-2025 school year, there will be more than 707,600 students studying this block, concentrated in key strategic technology and engineering fields. In the past 4 years, the size of this block has increased by an average of about 9%/year.
Following is Block III (Business and Management, Law) with a scale of more than 576,000 students in 2024-2025.

Meanwhile, Block IV (Life Sciences, Natural Sciences) has the smallest scale with more than 27,400 students.
The Ministry of Education and Training also assessed that the bright spot this year is that the groups of majors that the Government pays special attention to, such as the key Technology and Engineering sectors, have attracted more candidates. The results of admission to Pedagogy and STEM majors have also improved significantly.
In particular, in the 74 majors with a benchmark score based on the high school graduation exam score of 28/30 or higher, there are up to 50 majors in Pedagogy and 17 majors in Key Engineering and Strategic Technology (Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductor Microchips, Control and Automation...).
In the 2024-2025 school year, the results of implementing the targets by university-level major groups, Pedagogy is in the group with low results, only reaching 5% of the target. The two major groups with the highest target results are Business and Management (25%), Computer and Information Technology (12%).
