Bleeding hemorrhoids are not only uncomfortable but also pose many serious health risks. Many patients are hospitalized with anemia, physical weakness, and even fainting because they do not treat them. According to experts, hemorrhoids need to be examined and treated early to be more effective and limit complications.

Blood loss, weakness, fainting due to hemorrhoids

Master, Doctor Vu Van Hai, Department of Surgery, Thu Cuc TCI International General Hospital said that in a short period of time, the hospital received many cases of patients with bleeding hemorrhoids that affected their health.

At Thu Cuc TCI International General Hospital, Mr. HQV (50 years old, Thai Binh ) even fainted due to anemia, the patient had bloody stools, hemorrhoids prolapsed but was not examined. When going for a colonoscopy, due to fear of other diseases, the patient was then transferred to the Surgery Department to treat hemorrhoids. The patient described himself as very tired, pale skin, painful when going to the toilet and difficulty in daily activities due to hemorrhoids that were burning, itchy, accompanied by discharge and heavy bleeding.

Similar to Mr. V., after more than 7 years of living with hemorrhoids, Mr. PVL (40 years old, Bac Ninh ) came to see a doctor because hemorrhoids caused blood loss when going to the toilet year after year and the amount of blood loss gradually increased. Mr. L. was diagnosed with grade 4 mixed hemorrhoids, thrombosis, and necrosis. He said: "The hemorrhoids caused bleeding in streaks. When I came here, my body was almost exhausted, my skin was pale, I was tired, had difficulty breathing, and had a headache."

Ms. VNC (32 years old, Hanoi ) was hospitalized with bleeding hemorrhoids, pale skin, and fatigue - signs of anemia. Through examination and anoscopy, her internal hemorrhoids were grade 2, still able to retract when defecating, but bleeding was heavy and frequent every time she went to the toilet. She said that because she subjectively thought the hemorrhoids were mild, she had not been examined anywhere, only used medicine bought at home, but she herself was surprised: "I did not think my health would decline, my pale skin would be just because of hemorrhoids".

Doctor Vu Van Hai, Thu Cuc TCI Surgery Department, shared that bleeding is one of the dangerous complications of hemorrhoids. The level of bleeding tends to increase according to the condition of the disease. In the early stages, the patient may only see blood stains on toilet paper. When the disease progresses, the blood may drip, or in severe cases, it may even flow in a stream.

This complication is more common in patients with internal hemorrhoids and can last throughout the course of the disease. Some people with long-term hemorrhoids who do not intervene promptly may lose blood leading to severe anemia, affecting overall health.

Treat hemorrhoids as soon as possible, don't wait until it's too late.

For patients with bleeding as above, Dr. Vu Van Hai said that in the two cases of PVL and HQV, blood transfusions were needed before intervention could begin. After that, the doctor skillfully cut and cleaned the anus to remove necrotic tissue and thoroughly treated the large hemorrhoids and performed maximum pain relief therapy for the patient.

Both patients were stable after their stay in the hospital and could be discharged, but were still directly monitored online by Dr. Hai after treatment and scheduled for follow-up visits at fixed intervals. As a result, both patients recovered after more than 2 weeks, hemorrhoids were no longer a concern, and their bodies were healthier. The doctor said he was very happy when the patient called to inform that he was no longer weak, his skin was less pale, and he had gained weight again.

In the case of Ms. C. who came for an early examination when the hemorrhoids were at level 2, the bleeding was somewhat lighter than in the other two patients. Dr. Hai said that with bleeding level 2 hemorrhoids, the bleeding can be stopped and then treated with the advanced non-surgical Laser Diode hemorrhoid burning technology.

Doctor Vu Van Hai said: “Patient C. was conscious throughout the treatment with Laser Diode. With this method, Laser Diode energy flattens hemorrhoidal tissue, blocks the blood supply to the hemorrhoids, so they shrink without the need for invasive instruments.” The treatment became significantly easier because the technology causes almost no pain or very little pain, Ms. C. recovered quickly after a few hours and was able to walk and do normal activities. She was discharged from the hospital after 1 day and was also monitored online by the doctor, who scheduled a follow-up appointment to assess her condition after treatment.

According to Dr. Vu Van Hai, although hemorrhoids are a disease that can be cured by many methods, early treatment plays an important role in choosing a gentler treatment method. With Laser Diode, patients do not need to wait until the disease is severe to level 3 or 4 before having surgery in anxiety, but can intervene right from level 2 - when the disease begins to progress.

Currently, Thu Cuc TCI International General Hospital is one of the few pioneering hospitals applying Laser Diode hemorrhoid burning technology in treatment and has received extremely positive feedback from thousands of hemorrhoid patients.

Thu Cuc TCI International General Hospital is a trusted address for examination and treatment of hemorrhoids for many patients with full modern technology, especially the application of Laser Diode hemorrhoid burning. TCI is currently offering a discount of up to 3 million VND for patients with hemorrhoids treatment.
