(Dan Tri) - Since noon on December 23, the road management unit has placed barriers and signs prohibiting cars to divert traffic and repair the Cau Lau bridge (new) on National Highway 1, through Quang Nam; many drivers did not know and had to turn around.
At exactly 12 noon on December 23, at the bridgehead in Dien Ban town, Quang Nam province, the road management agency placed barriers and signs prohibiting cars from crossing the bridge. However, buses, ambulances and official vehicles were still allowed to cross the bridge.
According to Dan Tri reporters, after the prohibition sign was placed, hundreds of vehicles such as cars, buses, trucks, and tractor-trailers had to turn around when reaching the bridgehead. Drivers were guided by authorities to take other routes.
Previously, on December 13, Road Management Area III (Vietnam Road Administration) issued a notice on traffic diversion to repair the Cau Lau Bridge (new) on National Highway 1, Quang Nam province.
The diversion will take place in two phases: phase 1 from 12:00 on December 23 to December 31, and phase 2 from 12:00 on February 13, 2025 to 16:00 on April 5, 2025.
Many drivers admitted that they did not know about the bridge closure, leading to having to turn around.
PMH driver, who drives a container truck carrying goods from the north, shared: "I haven't read or seen the information yet, so I came here. If I had known in advance, I wouldn't have come here to avoid wasting time and fuel."
