(Dan Tri) - On the first day of the National Day holiday on September 2, from early morning on August 31, many roads and streets in Hanoi were congested; cars and motorbikes inched away from the capital.
Today (August 31), the first day of the National Day holiday, September 2, according to Dan Tri reporters, from 6am on the elevated Ring Road 3, there was a long traffic jam from Khuat Duy Tien intersection to Linh Dam lake. At some points, cars lined up for more than 3km, inching along the elevated Ring Road 3. This year’s holiday lasts 4 days (from August 31 to September 3), so the number of people returning to their hometowns and traveling is very large.
Many cars entered the emergency lane on the elevated Ring Road 3 to avoid traffic jams. 8:30 am, Nghiem Xuan Yem Street, near Hanoi People's Court, serious traffic jam, difficult for vehicles to move. At 9:00 a.m., Ngoc Hoi Street in front of Nuoc Ngam bus station gate was packed with cars and motorbikes. Traffic jams continued to occur on Nguyen Xien, Khuat Duy Tien, and Nghiem Xuan Yem streets, with vehicles lining up one after another on National Highway 1 and the Phap Van - Cau Gie Expressway. Cars and motorbikes lined up one meter after another on Hoang Liet Street (Hoang Mai District, Hanoi). According to reporters, from 8am the number of vehicles increased, especially on the roads and streets leading to the southern provinces of Hanoi. People with their belongings left the city to return to their hometowns for the September 2nd holiday. Pedestrians had to weave their way across the street in front of the Nuoc Ngam bus station. Minh Quan (31 years old, from Nghia Hung district, Nam Dinh ) said that on the evening of August 30, because they had booked a bus late and all the tickets were sold out, this morning he and his friend rode a motorbike back to their hometown. "Riding a motorbike in the hot weather is more tiring, but I can control my time," Quan shared. Traffic police are straining to direct and regulate traffic on Ngoc Hoi Street, in front of the Nuoc Ngam bus station.
