Memorable experience with Automotive Paint Technology

At the Festival of Connecting VocationalEducation in the Capital with the Labor Market in 2025, held on May 11, 2025 at Hanoi Children's Palace - Campus 2 (Pham Hung Street, My Dinh 2 Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi), the exhibition, consulting and career guidance booth of Hanoi College of Transport and Public Works always attracted special attention from students, with an attractive area to experience the profession of Automotive Painting Technology.
Here, young people can practice car painting under the guidance of experts and experienced teachers of the school.

Notably, among the faces participating in the experience guide, there is also a tall young man. That is Nguyen Minh Dung, born in 2003, living in Xuan Dinh, who has just completed a 2-year program majoring in Automotive Painting Technology at the school. Nguyen Minh Dung is one of the school's student representatives participating in the World Skills Competition in Lyon, France. Currently, although still very young, Dung is working with an attractive job position and a stable income.

Sharing the story of his memorable journey in the Automotive Paint Technology industry, Nguyen Minh Dung said:

“I chose to study this profession because I thought that the more my country develops, the more people will need to improve their quality of life and have their own cars, and the profession of Automotive Painting Technology is definitely necessary. With the support of my family, I enrolled in Hanoi College of Transport and Public Works - a school with a 60-year tradition of prestigious training. In 2024, a big turning point came to me, I was lucky to be selected as one of the Vietnamese candidates to participate in the World Skills Competition in France. During the preparation and competition process, with the support of teachers and the school's Board of Directors, I was able to practice and hone my skills every day, for years.”

Mastering professional skills to export Vietnamese paint and conquer the world market

Recalling his memorable journey at the WorldSkills arena, Nguyen Minh Dung confidently shared: “Along with the wonderful experience of demonstrating my abilities at the world's leading vocational skills playground, I also experienced internal exams of major car manufacturers such as Toyota, Hyundai... Currently, I am working for the export business department of MHM Coatings - MHM Production and Import-Export Company Limited. Here, thanks to my mastery of car painting techniques and deep understanding of technology, during the process of performing export business tasks, I can advise customers on suitable and effective products that best meet their needs.”

Hanoi College of Transport and Public Works is a public vocational training institution, under the Department of Education and Training of Hanoi City. The school was established on December 30, 1965. In nearly 60 years of construction and development, the school has contributed to the development of the country through training over 80,000 high-quality technical personnel, scientific research, development and transfer of advanced technology in science and engineering, especially in the fields of automotive technology, automotive painting, high-tech welding... providing training services to meet the needs of high-quality human resources, national and international standard skills for society and compete well in the global labor market.

Currently, the school strives to become a high-quality vocational training institution of the country and region, developing and accompanying businesses through human resource training programs in the direction of applied careers according to national and international standards; at the same time, expanding cooperation with countries in the region and around the world.

In the 2025-2026 school year, the school has a dual-degree enrollment program for grade 10 students (high school + college) based on high school transcripts and grade 9 academic results, with an enrollment target of 225 students. The program lasts 3 years, studying in parallel with the high school program (tuition fees according to regulations) and college (free).

Training majors and occupations include: Automotive technology; Automotive painting technology; Maintenance and repair of automobile frames and shells; Multimedia graphics, Information technology (Software applications); Computer repair and assembly techniques; Mechanical equipment manufacturing; Welding; Welding reinforcement; English; German; Japanese; Hotel management; Modeling and beauty care; Industrial electronics; Industrial electricity; Operating construction machinery; General mechanical loading and unloading.

Students are not only exempted from 100% of tuition fees for intermediate level, but also have the opportunity to transfer to college and university, and receive 2 diplomas: high school and intermediate according to the major and profession they have studied.

The high school training program is based on two groups, including compulsory subjects and educational activities: mathematics, literature, history, and career guidance activities; and optional subjects: physics, chemistry, geography, biology, technology, economic education, and law.
