Understand yourself, master the future
At the Career Orientation Seminar “Understanding yourself, mastering the future” with the participation of guests: Journalist Nguyen Tuan Anh – Head of Student Department – Hoa Hoc Tro, Tien Phong newspaper ; Ms. Nguyen Men – Chairman of the Board of Directors of GBM Group; Mr. Nguyen Tien Dat – Director of SSSTUDY Education Training Joint Stock Company; Ms. Le Lan Anh – Ale study abroad orientation consultant.
![]() |
Ms. Nguyen Men said that she studied at the University of Transport, but her current job is in business - related to her passion. "If you have the opportunity to understand yourself while still in school, the path to fashion business will be shorter in time, equipped with more knowledge and skills and will have more opportunities for success," Ms. Men said.
Ms. Nguyen Men noted that high school students who do not have much experience need to explore themselves through finding information online, at recruitment fairs, and in professional communities. Through consultation sessions and seminars, they will gain more knowledge and experience to help them understand more about themselves.
Also discussing at the discussion, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dat said that the initial career choice is not the job you will follow for the rest of your life, but can change according to your own awareness and ability. However, you need to spend time learning about the career you are interested in and love; seriously assess your own abilities and desires; participate in consulting and experience activities to have more information and understanding about jobs and career trends.
According to the Director of SSSTUDY Education Training Joint Stock Company, young people can evaluate which group their strengths belong to: Problem solving ability; communication, connection, negotiation ability; self-learning ability, updating knowledge and trends.

Meanwhile, Ms. Le Lan Anh expressed that it is quite late for young people to start thinking about “what I want after graduation” when they are in grade 12. To answer this question, many people have chosen the grapyear solution – spending a year participating in activities to explore themselves. This is necessary, but it should be noted because there are many risks.
Ms. Le Lan An encourages young people to be brave in evaluating themselves and moving forward on the chosen journey. You have a lot of energy and talent and you need to unlock that talent and capacity. Parents need to accompany, share and connect with their children, avoid imposing and lacking sharing.

The age of science and technology
![]() |
Mr. Vu Tu Thanh - Deputy Executive Director of the US-ASEAN Business Council. |
In the big picture, Vietnam has gone through more than 30 years of innovation. However, development only takes place 'on the ground', such as real estate. In the coming time, to take off, we must exploit new development spaces, such as space, sea and underground space, pursuing the goal that by 2030 Vietnam will escape the middle-income level, joining the group of 20 largest economies in the world with a scale of 1,000 billion USD per year.
This requires high-tech scientific knowledge. The recent Resolution 57 of the Politburo has identified science and technology as one of the main pillars that bring breakthroughs for the country's development. With support in policies, guidelines, and mechanisms, it can be said that this is the era of science and technology.
I believe that Vietnam possesses high-quality human resources in science and technology, and the young people here are the 'hidden gems', who through the training process can become talented people, helping the country to develop. I promise that the young people who love science and technology who are here, when they graduate, will be given the opportunity to intern and test themselves at large international companies and corporations."

![]() |
Prof. Dr. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh (Hanoi University of Science and Technology) said that this summer there will be science experience classes (physics, biology, chemistry, etc.) for students. The school's admission methods this year include: Admission based on the results of the school's capacity assessment test; Admission based on high school academic results combined with interviews; Direct admission according to the school's admission plan.
![]() |
At the program, many students were confused about determining a suitable career for themselves; working in a different field; their parents had career orientations different from their own wishes...
![]() |
The speakers said that first of all, students need to respect the opinions, guidance and concern of their parents. They need to explain and express their wishes to convince their parents to support them. The labor market is very open and young people have many opportunities in terms of careers and fields. In the near future, Vietnam will have a great demand for human resources in the field of science and technology, attracting talents. If you study well and like Mathematics and Physics, you will have many opportunities to pursue and work in many professions related to science and technology, related to future trends.

Need to equip knowledge and skills related to science, technology
![]() |
Dr. Pham Huy Hieu - Lecturer at VinUni University. |
Speaking at the admissions fair, Dr. Pham Huy Hieu - Lecturer at VinUni University - Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award 2024, shared: “We are living in an era of rapid development of science and technology, besides facing many challenges such as climate change, competitiveness; therefore, it is necessary to equip ourselves with knowledge and skills related to science, technology and engineering.
A study shows that in the future, many jobs will disappear while new ones appear all at once. Currently, there are waves of global layoffs as science and technology, including data analysis and artificial intelligence, develop too quickly. To adapt, young people need to choose promising and necessary careers in the coming decades. Those are the fields of science and technology.

Complete the scientific and technological revolution, with the intelligence, strength and will of the Vietnamese people
![]() |
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Dinh Phong – Vice Rector of University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH). |
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Dinh Phong - Vice President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (USTH), Ta Quang Buu Award 2018, shared: "To develop science and technology, the important thing is human resources. We are lacking people working in science and technology, because according to statistics, on average, out of 1 million Vietnamese people, only 757 people work in the field of science and technology, while in high-middle income countries, the ratio is 1,500 people/1 million people.
Besides, we also need highly qualified human resources in the field of science and technology, creating products of high quality and value. Therefore, we need you, welcome you to science and technology with passion, choose your favorite programs, learn from the best and expand international relations. I believe that Vietnam can complete the scientific and technological revolution, with the intelligence, strength and will of the Vietnamese people. Vietnamese youth are not inferior to international youth, just need to be determined to master science and technology".
