On the afternoon of November 27 in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Hanoi People's Committee, Vietnam Television and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists to hold a press conference to introduce the program "Vietnam Happy Fest 2025". This is not only a large-scale cultural and artistic activity but also an opportunity to honor humanistic values, the spirit of solidarity and the aspiration to build a happy and sustainable society that our Party and State have always consistently pursued.
Happiness from simple things
“Happy Vietnam” is a media award on human rights, where beautiful moments about the country and people of Vietnam are recorded through the authentic perspectives of tens of thousands of authors at home and abroad.
Speaking at the press conference, Director of the Department of Grassroots Information and External Information (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ) Pham Anh Tuan emphasized: "Happy Vietnam" from being a media award on human rights, has now become a space to spread positive living values, where happiness is seen from the simplest and most genuine things of daily life.
Nearly 40,000 photographic and video works submitted since 2023 are rich in observation and humanity, showing that happiness is not a distant thing but begins with the smiles of workers, family meals, festive colors or sharing arms in difficult times. Those moments reflect a stable, humane Vietnam, always striving for development.
Vietnam Happy Fest 2025 takes place from December 5 to 7 on the Hoan Kiem Lake walking street - the cultural heart of the capital. With the idea of "The Road of Happiness", the event includes 13 experience points stretching from Le Thai To Street to Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, creating a continuous flow of emotions.
People and tourists will be able to participate in a variety of activities: Vietnam Happiness Exhibition; digital interactive space; art exhibition areas, creative photobooths; "Happiness Tree" to convey wishes; "Happiness Map" connecting the community; sports and media activities "Health is happiness"; experience happy announcer... Each stop is an "emotional rhythm", aiming to help participants identify and nurture their own happiness.
According to Director Pham Anh Tuan, the message of this year's festival originates from "happiness of simple things", because it is this simplicity that creates a solid foundation for social strength. This is also a way to honor the spirit of solidarity - a value that has helped Vietnamese people overcome natural disasters and epidemics, especially during the storm and flood seasons in the central region.
The event aims at three major goals: Helping the world see a happy, stable, and humane Vietnam; Helping those who have not yet fully experienced happiness realize that happiness exists all around them; Instructing people on how to nurture and spread happiness in life.
Not only is it a gathering place for artists, tourists and locals, Vietnam Happy Fest 2025 also demonstrates the spirit of “looking towards the central region”, sharing with our compatriots who are trying to overcome difficulties. Happiness is therefore seen not only as a personal emotion but also as the resilience of the community, the foundation of social cohesion.
Towards building a happy nation
The highlight of Vietnam Happy Fest 2025 will be the joint wedding of 80 couples symbolizing the nation's 80-year journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness.
An independent, free, happy country, rich in cultural and historical traditions, will gradually affirm its position and brand in the international arena. The event is where family memories, loving moments and a sense of connection are shared through the love stories of 80 couples who will celebrate a joint wedding ceremony together.
Designed as a “journey of discovery to happiness”, the festival offers multi-layered experiences, recreating beautiful stories of Vietnamese people, perspectives on happiness so that at the end of the journey, everyone can find their own laughter, joy, peace and hope in it.
Based on the results of previous events, Vietnam aims to develop “Happy Vietnam Day” into an annual event and move towards international stature in the future. This is a step to continue the strategic orientation of cultural development, building a well-rounded Vietnamese person, contributing to promoting the image of a peaceful, stable and humane country to the world.
Vietnam Happy Fest 2025 is therefore not only a cultural and artistic program but also an event to affirm the value of national happiness, a testament to development achievements, and an invitation to international friends to a peaceful, friendly and humane Vietnam.
In that emotional space, each person comes not only to enjoy and experience, but also to "feel" and to be "happy" - in the most genuine way of every Vietnamese person today.
