At Huyen Tran station, the southwest wind is strong at level 6, gusting to level 9; at Truong Sa station, the wind is strong at level 7.

Last night and early this morning (August 28), Thanh Hoa to Lam Dong had scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places having heavy rain. The rainfall from 7:00 p.m. on August 27 to 3:00 a.m. on August 28 was over 90 mm in some places, such as Khe Na 1 Station (Nghe An) 114.4 mm; Viet Trung Station (Quang Tri) 96.4 mm; Dien Binh Station (Quang Ngai) 94.6 mm.

Forecast, in the afternoon and evening of August 28, the area from Thanh Hoa to Lam Dong and the South will have scattered showers and thunderstorms (10-30 mm, some places have heavy rain, some places have over 80 mm); risk of heavy rain over 80 mm/3 hours. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, strong gusts of wind. Risk of natural disasters due to tornadoes, lightning, hail level 1. Heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas, industrial parks; flash floods on rivers, small streams and landslides on steep slopes.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting also issued a warning that in the next 6 hours, there is a risk of flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence on steep slopes and small streams in the provinces of Lao Cai, Quang Ninh, Nghe An, Ha Tinh , Quang Tri, and Quang Ngai.
