Thanh Hoa youth join hands to overcome storm consequences

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Storm No. 5 and its accompanying floods have caused much damage to people in Thanh Hoa province. As soon as the storm passed, the youth union members quickly formed support teams, joining hands with the authorities and people to overcome the consequences.

According to statistics, the storm damaged 89 houses, flooded 2,037 houses; flooded 4,791 hectares of rice, 941 hectares of crops, and 469 hectares of annual crops; caused many dike incidents, and affected traffic and communication.

Implementing the direction of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee on focusing on overcoming the consequences of storm No. 5, Youth Union chapters at all levels in the province simultaneously mobilized to support environmental cleaning, especially at educational facilities affected by storms and floods.

Since August 27, the rain has stopped, but in Tho Phu commune, water is still flooding. Youth union members participated in supporting farmers to move rabbits to a safe place.

Son Dien Commune Youth Union coordinated with functional forces to support people affected by storms and floods to build temporary shelters.

In Tan Thanh commune, heavy rains and floods buried many houses and essential structures in mud. As soon as the water receded, union members and youths started to implement many solutions to overcome the situation.
