Thanh Hoa youth join hands to overcome storm consequences

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Storm No. 5 and its accompanying floods have caused much damage to people in Thanh Hoa province. As soon as the storm passed, the youth union members quickly formed support teams, joining hands with authorities and people to overcome the consequences.

According to statistics, the storm caused damage to 89 houses, 2,037 houses were flooded; 4,791 hectares of rice, 941 hectares of crops, 469 hectares of annual crops were flooded; many dike incidents occurred, traffic and communication were affected.

Implementing the direction of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee on focusing on overcoming the consequences of storm No. 5, Youth Union chapters at all levels in the province simultaneously mobilized to support environmental cleaning, especially at educational institutions affected by storms and floods.

Since August 27, the rain has stopped, but in Tho Phu commune, water is still flooding. Youth union members have joined in supporting livestock farmers to move rabbits to a safe place.

In Tan Thanh commune, heavy rains and floods buried many houses and essential structures in mud. As soon as the water receded, union members and youths began to implement many solutions to overcome the situation.
