From more than 1,000 casting applications, the film adapted from the novel Once Upon a Time There Was a Love Story by writer Nguyen Nhat Anh has found 3 actors to play the main roles in the film, whose names are both familiar and strange.
The three actors who will play the roles of Vinh, Mien, and Phuc will be introduced to the public by director Trinh Dinh Le Minh and the producer as Avin Lu, Ngoc Xuan, and Do Nhat Hoang.

Avin Lu will play the role of Vinh “com” - a scholarly, gentle and introverted guy. Before this project, the actor born in 1995 played the main role in Saigon in the rain (2020) and the young Trinh Cong Son in the movie Em va Trinh (2022).
This is also a stepping stone for him to confidently take on more challenging roles, as well as meet the high demands of directors. Originally a singer, known to the audience from the program The Voice 2018, he then started to enter the acting field and impressed with his romantic appearance.
Ngoc Xuan, born in 1999, will play the role of Mien - a charming girl with natural beauty and eyes filled with emotions. Having made an impression with a casting clip posted on her personal page, Ngoc Xuan is still a fairly unfamiliar name in the film industry, having only acted in the TV series Mother's Dream (2022), the MV Vi Sao Sang (Lam Truong)...

The remaining name, Do Nhat Hoang, born in 1997 - will take on the role of Phuc - a rugged young man with a strong appearance, straightforward personality and full of enthusiasm. The actor stands out with his tall stature, handsome face, and appeared in the program Who is that person 2022. Do Nhat Hoang also participated in the short film Ben bo xa lac (2023), MVs such as Because you are a handsome man (Dam Vinh Hung), Trai tim yeu yo (Runner-up Thuy Van), Tet xa hoa gan (Hoa Minzy)...
According to the producer, the three main actors were selected from different forms. Avin Lu - an actor with experience in previous film projects was invited to the audition.
Ngoc Xuan registered to participate via the TikTok platform and gradually entered the next rounds thanks to her own talent and impressive acting ability as Mien. Meanwhile, Do Nhat Hoang registered to audition according to the actor search notice from the producer.

It is known that after finishing the casting round, the three are currently preparing for filming. They also spent a lot of time talking and practicing acting together, to be able to fully portray the image of the three close friends Vinh, Mien, and Phuc in the film.
Before the film crew announced the three main actors, writer Nguyen Nhat Anh shared: “Trinh Dinh Le Minh will imagine Vinh, Phuc, and Mien based on his feelings, imagination, personality, and creative tendencies. As a writer, I just hope that from literary materials, the director will create a successful film, especially one that touches the emotions of the audience, that’s good enough.”

Once upon a time there was a love story revolving around the friendship and love between two boys and a girl from childhood to adulthood, facing the challenges of fate.
The three characters Vinh, Mien, and Phuc fell in love, stumbled into life, and overcame it. The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by writer Nguyen Nhat Anh, first published in 2016 and reprinted more than 10 times with different book cover versions to date.
The film is scheduled to premiere in 2024.
