Nghe An has 18 more communes achieving model new rural areas and advanced new rural areas.

On May 9, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a meeting of the Council for appraisal and recognition of communes meeting new rural standards, advanced new rural standards, and model new rural standards in 2023. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province.

Through the appraisal of documents and the actual inspection of the level of meeting the criteria, at the meeting, the Appraisal Council voted to recognize 2 communes meeting the new rural standards; 16 communes meeting the advanced new rural standards; 2 communes meeting the model new rural standards.

Specifically, 16 communes were recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards, including: Ma Thanh, Phu Thanh, Nam Thanh, Trung Thanh, Lang Thanh, Lien Thanh, Minh Thanh, Bao Thanh, Vinh Thanh communes (Yen Thanh district); Nam Thai, Hong Long communes (Nam Dan district); Nghi Dien, Khanh Hop communes (Nghi Loc district); Minh Hop commune (Quy Hop district); Hung Son commune (Anh Son district); Nghia Son commune (Nghia Dan district).

Two communes recognized as model new rural communes are Xuan Lam commune, Nam Dan district and Long Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district.

According to the leader of the Office of New Rural Area Coordination of Nghe An province, after registering to build new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, model new rural areas with high political determination, along with the attention of all levels, sectors, and the drastic direction of the Steering Committee for the implementation of national target programs of the province, district, and localities, positive results have been achieved. The material and spiritual life of the people has been gradually improved. The appearance of the countryside is spacious, green, clean, and beautiful.

With the view of not leaving behind any criteria in new rural construction, the provincial appraisal team has assessed very seriously and realistically, ensuring that the criteria meet the requirements.

In addition to provincial support, district-level localities have had mechanisms to encourage communes to complete the criteria for new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas. In particular, Yen Thanh district has supported 1 billion VND/commune to help the commune complete the criteria.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee commended and congratulated the communes for completing their tasks. The Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee also requested that communes that have met the new rural standards and advanced new rural standards continue to strive to build localities that meet the advanced new rural standards and model new rural standards. Communes that have been recognized as model new rural standards should continue to improve and sustainably maintain the achieved criteria, build livable countrysides, and contribute to the overall development of the province.
