On the afternoon of July 22, floods rushed to Muong Xen, Nhon Mai, and Muong Quang communes ( Nghe An ), many residential areas were flooded, and local authorities and forces urgently responded.

Some key traffic routes were deeply flooded, posing a danger to people and vehicles. Households living on both sides of the Nam Mo River were flooded and had no time to react. Local authorities, military forces, and police are urgently deploying forces to ensure people's safety. In particular, focusing on evacuating people and moving assets to higher areas.

According to a representative of the local government, the reason for the rapid floodwaters is that there was also heavy rain in Laos (upstream of the Nam Mo River). In addition, the Nam Mo Hydropower Plant released floodwaters, causing the riverbed to not drain quickly enough, causing the water to rise. "We are mobilizing maximum forces to ensure the safety of the people and reduce property damage for the people," comrade Nguyen Viet Hung, Secretary of the Muong Xen Commune Party Committee, quickly shared.

In Nhon Mai commune, from 4 p.m. on the same day, water from the upstream of Khe Hy and Khe Ben streams poured in with a very large flow. Residential areas on both sides of the streams are becoming very dangerous, local authorities are mobilizing maximum forces to help people. Comrade Mac Van Nguyen, Secretary of the Nhon Mai Commune Party Committee said: "The commune is mobilizing all forces to help people, we will try our best".
